WESTVIEW vs DRESDEN, Sat. Aug. 20th

Will the defending 2A CHAMPIONS come out blazing? And continue their winning ways? Or will the Lions step up and get a big win, making a statement at the start of this season? One thing for sure, the stadium will be packed and both sides will have a loud & proud fan base cheering on their team!! This could be another epic rivalry game between these neighboring schools! What are others’’ thoughts?

Going to be a good one I'm sure.Dresden from reading has a pretty good defense.Can they stop the pass?Westview in a close one.May can go either way though.

This one at UT Martin or Dresden?

This Hampton Bulldog was highly impressed with Westview at the state championship last year. I know they lost the quarterback but they had a lot more players that supported him. How many seniors did Westview lose? If not many then I'm definitely thinking Westview in this one,

It’s almost always at UTM, & each year we just take turns being the home team on the scoreboard. Lions like playing up there, sort of our North Campus field. Nice place to play. But with TSSAA changing days of the game, I guess we might have had to play in Dresden if the UTM Skyhawks were playing Saturday. But it all worked out. First time in awhile we weren’t the first game for the new season, for many years it was on a Thursday. There is always aTON of eager excitement & new-season nervousness.. this has the potential to be a really, really good game. You know both teams want to win big & make a statement to the rest of their opponents. The defending 2A champs saying Oh yes we are here and fully intent to stay champs.. And Dresden taking down the Top Dog of 2A , and do it handily (like they impressively handled 6A McCracken for two quarters), that kind of victory would definitely send out a message that the Lions are legit & have big plans for themselves as well. I hope to get there early so I can have a good seat. Gonna bring my blue camping chair and sit at corner of endzone, with my bigcowbell, horn, and loud voice of encouragement. LET’s GOOOO LIONS! .. I wonder if we will wear our all black uniform again. Incl’d. Black helmets. Wish we could put in black sun visors on face-guards. THAT would look awesome!

Well, I’ve looked at 4 “official” sources as to the start time for Saturday’s game, two say 7:00, two say 7:30. So I’d suggest go for the earlier time, better early than late. I can’t find the ticket price either. In the past it’s always been $5, but with everything going up I’d suggest bringing at least $7 per ticket.. unless you’ve bought a season pass, then you’re set! And the noisemakers.. ALWAYS bring THE NOISE!!! Man oh man.. I don’t know about anyone else, but this ‘ol dude is happy football season is here! yes Yes YEEEEESSSSSS! I’m READY FOR SOOOOME FOOOOOTBAAAAAALLLL! .. .. ..how ‘bout you?
