I have to agree he’s probably not top ten but was a heck of an athlete. I personally thought his brother was better football player he was hard nosed runner with some good foot speed.

He can’t be mentioned with Antonio Robinson, Antonio Chubb, Rashawn Witherspoon, Malcolm Jones, Cade Kennemore, Reginald Hunter, Markus Starkey, Lightning McQueens of the program that have played out at wideout some in their career, but was definitely one that could have been a bigger name if he had the opportunities.

Could this boy have played in the sec?

Stone is know for waisting player’s speed I’m afraid. Just like he did Kavin Pryor in 2013-2014.

Pretty sure Stone was at Boyd in 2014-2016 and in 2013 he fed the ball to our 2 studs Khalil Mitchell and  Lankford. The gap in skill players that year after those 2 was far and wide

If  memory serves me correct in 2013 we went to state and ran the ball non stop while feeding those 2 guys. Corbin Fitzgerald was the 3rd cog in the wheel but the 2 Seniors were superior to any other skill players on the team.

People need to turn on the television on Saturday to see what SEC talent looks like. SP had zero lower tier D1 talent in 2014 much less SEC. They lost to Copper Basin for crying out loud.  Kentucky music city miracle  must be family to this cat. I believe I remember his brother playing. He was a pretty good player for the Pirates I believe at RB.

There is 24,000 high schools in the nation and about 25 SEC RB's recruits per year. That's 1 RB out of 970 schools. Odds are SP ain't one of them schools.

Agreed SPs BEST skill guys are usually lower level D1 recruits. David Jones is probably the only skill guy in last 20 years to get just a little SEC attention and he ended up at MTSU. There may have been more but he’s the only one I know of.

    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....
