I think if you just swap Ripley and Liberty that could be the districts in 13 & 14.  They could send Ripley to one of the Memphis districts too.  Memphis could get three districts again.  Two four team districts and one with 5 teams if Ripley moves in.  Who knows with the TSSAA?

Look at the Memphis Districts last year. How many of the actual schools in Districts actually played. Lots of 1-0 District and Region games. You got teams listed in Districts that are not there. They don’t play.

That is a joke. Two four teams and a five team. You need to look at last years results. You got teams listed in Districts that don’t play. Only for sure game you have down there is a Bartlett or an Arlington now. It’s a train wreck. Why cater to a bunch that don’t care and play??? Memphis East also plays up so they may not be there either.

Would be the logical thing with 13/14 to just slide Union City in and keep everything else the same. For the life of me, I can't understand 11 and 12. You have 5 west tennessee teams and 4 middle teams, and they're all mixed together. Makes no sense to me. Big Sandy, Clarksburg, Bruceton, WC and McKenzie should all be together. 4 are in the same county!

I'm not saying that is going to happen, but with the TSSAA you just never know how they handle Memphis districts and regions.  I really don't see the Memphis teams having but two districts in the new cycle.  It should be interesting.

I went by how they were placed in the last cycle by the TSSAA and those schools mentioned were split up by them. I don't think they will change the districts up that much. I added teams that had dropped down to 1A from 2A or if they are a new school. I admit that I don't know the exact locations. This is just a projection. The TSSAA will do what they want to do.

To be clear, that was not directed at you. It was the TSSAA. No idea why they split those schools up like that last time.

Memphis runs their HS athletics like a Fall leaugue slow pitch softball leaugue.

Schools will have until Monday, October 24, 2022 to notify the state office of their wish to move up in any of the above classification plans.

Once the deadline passes, the state office staff, with input from Board members, will set districts and regions and post them to the TSSAA website when complete. District and region alignments will be published no later than one week prior to the Board of Control's November 17, 2022 meeting. Any school that disagrees with their placement can have their appeal heard by the Board of Control at that time.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
