This makes sense. And if people will stop and think UC going to 1A makes a lot of sense. The last classification cycle Obion went from 3A to 4A. Obviously that effected UC’s enrollment.

I don't think this is right. OC's population is getting smaller and I don't think they've been 3A at any point since there has been 6 classes.

Someone posted last night that oc enrollment has went down. Kinda weird 

the only other factor that can be considered I see is home school

You are correct. They haven’t been 3A since the 5 class days. I should have looked before I spoke. And yes Obion has gone down slightly. 762 last reporting cycle and 751 this cycle. Even South Fulton went down by 2 from 182 to 180. However it’s just my opinion but I don’t think it is unusual for UC to have a 1A population. There are 3 high schools in that county and the entire county population is not that large. Just my two cents.

I think the 1A cutoff will be 370 or so and 2A cutoff will be 545

Smith County dropping to 2A could be a problem for several teams in our area.

Talking to people up there and with what they have coming up, the drop to 2A seems to benefit them as much as anyone I know of around the mid state.

They’re loosing a lot of those big lineman but the stud freshman qb will be a problem for a lot of teams.

I just wonder if he makes it through HS at Smith County, he has DII talent on the diamond and the football field

Agree. Big for them as they have had a quarterfinal ceiling in 3A in their good years. To get there enrollment dropped by around 11%. Any funny business going on?  It’s no boom town but county seems to have solid growth.
