A good coach will never let a team just quit.  I don't know the guys at Oneida but their body of work says they need to do better.  I'm tickled to have Zac.  Our boys have seen some tough times this year but they have a great attitude.

Attitude, Motivation, and Good Coaching they RESPECT and Kids that would Run thru a brick wall for the HC is the Most Important key to success IF you have a little talent and size. Hampton is a great example this year. Not nearly the biggest, strongest, fastest, but the Love their Coach and Community and it shows on the field.

I think we probably agree on most to be honest. Last year they were physical. They absolutely manhandled South Greene, who was the #1 seed. On both sides of the ball. Absolute domination in the trenches. This year they are soft. I don't understand exactly why. I think half is coaching (no OL/DL), and the other half is attitude. They play finesse now which as you know is not what Oneida is and not what TL built.

They have like 15 starting seniors. Athletic QB, athletic skill guys. Any team would love to have all that. But for some reason it doesn't translate.

They lack toughness. Kids miss practice all the time, games all the time...over the most minor bumps and bruises.

Offense is very predictable. Rockwood was calling out plays before they happened. They just weren't disciplined enough on defense to stop it, lol.

Lastly, there is no accountability. And that starts at the top. And IMO, that's their biggest problem.

Have to agree on all points there. The current regime has definitely made significant changes to the program on and off the field.

Agree here as well.

They would have ended up losing anyway I think. The only thing stopping Rockwood's offense that night was dumb play calls and penalties. Oneida certainly wasn't. Don't forget, RW scored twice after that and could've added a third late if they wanted to. Oneida could barely complete a pass after that.

I don’t disagree that we may have lost anyway but I actually posted about 2 plays after that fumble how every Oneida players head dropped and shoulders slumped after that happened. We were in a battle up to that point but we absolutely gave up after that. That was the turning point of that game but I don’t feel the season. I think the tracks had been greased weeks earlier and the downhill slide was well underway by then.

I would tend to agree. The grease started gettin thick on the tracks after that embarrassing performance at Greenback. We said it and got called out for it but seems we may know a little.

Win or lose, Everyone from Hampton should be extremely proud of what this TEAM has accomplished this season. Losing 10 starters and several all state players, who would have thought this Team would be able to do the things they have, Have to say I had my doubts and wasn't sure they'd win over 4 or 5 games, Coaches have done a great job but they have had dedicated kids who show up every day to get better. Who knows where it ends but we should all be very proud of the whole program from top to bottom.

Amen.. They have become a team, a cohesive unit that plays for one another. I am also very proud of them and look forward to see how far they can take it. I'm proud of all involved in the program.

    • You defend your little buddy bsatt like it’s the end of the world just as much. Why don’t you go on to Upperman with him this summer… you know he is your “BEST MAN”.
    • No sir. Not staying at East. But definitely not going to Elizabethton.
    • Football and basketball coaches should not be making 100,000 not teaching any classes unless their winning state championship every year lol
