This pretty much sums up Sequoyah and Monroe county!!!!

This sums up sequoyah. Not Monroe co.  Sweetwaters football, basketball and baseball programs are thriving as well as an undefeated jr high basketball team and football team who played for a championship. Youth programs are very very talented. This is a madisonville and vonore problem. Not a Monroe co problem!!

Astute observation. Weaver at Sweetwater runs the show and nobody is going to tell him otherwise. Sequoyah had that 20+ years ago, Mr. Jenkins was the exact same way. Whether that was because they had/have enough dirt on those above them, I don't know, regardless, they were/are in charge and everyone knows it. Politics is everywhere, but Monroe County, sickening. I would love to see things change for the better, the kids are who suffer. To think if Sequoyah did what was needed to hang on to Meadows when they had him, and the youth leagues had been fostered accordingly early on, the program probably wouldn't be the dumpster fire it is now.

Should schedule someone you know is a sure win just to stop the losing streak before you own the state record for loses in a roll. That would be something to hang your hat on crossing the county line and being greeted with a sign saying welcome to Monroe County home of the worst football program in the State of Tennessee High School History and we have the record to prove it.

Meadows was never going to stay anywhere long enough to build a consistent program. Just look at his track record in places where he had success it was all short term or one and move on.

it is a shame. Kids deserve a chance at success.

I know Scott Meadows personally and haven't seen him in a few years but every move he made until after the Catholic job I can 100% say there was a legitimate reason for each move, some very personal and others a major jump in pay. I can also say he is one of the greatest people I know and why kids play hard for him and why he has been very fortunate in reviving programs that have been down for a while. The Catholic job in my opinion was a no win situation with all those power hungry hands on people behind the scenes always with their hands in the pie just like the way they did this past coach.

Yes I'm sure Meadows never had or made demands/requests that were not supported and he was told no which lead him to look and go elsewhere. I'm sure he always wanted to become known as "Suitcase" Meadows and job hop his entire career. Makes sense.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
