I have heard that at least 8 sheriffs vehicles have escorted the Peabody team, coaches, and fans to Memphis. The Peabody media is even getting an escort. Shouldn't security be the responsibility of the home team (MASE)?

Recap so far: 

Driggers scored on a long run on the first play from scrimmage. 
MASE’s was moving on their first drive, but neglected my penalties. Punted the ball, but went 0 yards. 
Peabody had the ball at MASE’s 28, and got a first down off an encroachment. Scored later to make 14-0

MASE’s Brown scored on a long run of 45+ yards 

Peabody leads 14-8

I've been to and broadcast plenty of games over the years at various public schools in memphis. We never got, nor asked for a police escort. My last trip was to Oakhaven  to play Mitchell a few years ago. I've broadcast playoff games from Oakhaven, Crump Stadium, BTW, Manassas and a couple of other places in not so great areas. I never had any problems

LC has played at Melrose several times in playoffs and this year and no problems.

Seems like a great game.Think Trenton stops Brown,they be ok.Trenton is better on defense than LC so think they can get it done.From what I saw,it was the 2 running backs but mostly Brown .

The security was probably the security that Peabody brought down. I went to a playoff game last year, and this year in Memphis, and I didn’t have a problem feeling unsafe. MPD had several police officers around, and I appreciate that! I can’t imagine this game being any different than what I experienced.

Whatever MASE is gifting Peabody, Peabody is just giving back. It’s like hot potato.
