Fairness is not the mission, If so Cloudland and Unaka would never be lumped with the Union Cities, McKenzies, Mase Of Fayette city. These schools have nothing in common except enrollment #s. If you just want to count enrollment, put the private back in, do away with classes and have at it.  We,ve had big time advantaged teams forever, its not like the football Gods put all the talent in Alcoa. Its pretty much who can draw the most outside talent ,PERIOD.

What's not fair about it? Because some schools have more athletes than others? The privates and publics should be split because they play by a different set of rules.

It doesn't matter who you're a fan of to recognize what common sense is. But of course many of the D-II supporters such as yourself went from mocking the publics with the mantras "Everyone gets a trophy" and "play who's in front of you" now you're the ones advocating for everyone to get a trophy. Because God forbid TCA to have to play a school with an enrollment of 100 more than them. Lmao

No, I don't care for some teams for the simple fact that some of yall do nothing but whine.  First you complained about competing against privates who offered financial aid. Thus the birth of D2. Then yall complained that D1 privates who played by D1 rules had other unfair advantages. You got the multiplier for a number of years.  You guys still continued to complain, so you got the rest of us privates banished to D2. The problem is you are still not satisfied. Thus, the everyone gets a trophy comment. You mock me about playing a school with 100 or so more kids than us now. With the way talent seems to flow, my school playing  a D2 who has  100 to 200 more students would be like your school lining up against a team like Haywood on a weekly basis. You would not like the results and neither would I for what you proposed. Sure, I'd like for there to be more teams in D2 in all classes. But how far can you go in regulating a more level playing field in D1 without adding more classes, thus the trophy comment again.

Anyway, time for hoops.

Be honest with yourself, you like the current alignment because it allows a horrible 4-6 team to host a playoff game. Also no private schools play by D-1 rules including your own TCA no matter how much you want to falsely claim so. Any school that can FORCE a student to play (or kick them out of school) such as TCA, JCS, and USJ should be in D-2. Lmfao did you just say the difference between 100 students In d-2 is like the difference between WC and Haywood? That's just nonsensical. Better pull some more kids from Crockett if that's the case

And so do City, Magnet, charter , academy and  this college thing they are stating near Alcoa. Its the drawing pool in these type schools and still being able to keep the enrollment  down where they play small rural schools. Its actually fairly easy to understand.

I noticed you also mentioned McKenzie in your prior comment what'd they do? I don't disagree about the co-ops. But you lumped McKenzie in there earlier so I was truly confused on what you meant.

I think AlwaySunny means that there’s no City close by. . VERY RURAL. I do believe even the smaller enrollment City Programs have a little advantage because of resources. A City System has generally better facilities, better pay, and it’s just more difficult for these smaller communities to just pay for equipment etc to field a team. That xtra money per student in a City System is an advantage.
Unaka has probably the worst field in 1A and a small seating area on one side of the field. I can only imagine how their weight room and training area is compared to say Moore Co that has Lynchburg and the dollars it adds to their program. Unaka just had their first winning season in my lifetime with over 300 kids. But numbers are all we have to work with when it comes to classification. But i don’t ever look for them to compete outside their region. Ever.

Its my understanding they actually have several kids who come from other schools, My understanding could be totally wrong but I doubt it. Small rural schools have good years and bad years, some just reload. I have nothing against any School or group of kids, its just that the TSSAA should do a little digging and see what makes certain schools powerhouses every year. Also check into to how a team couldn't beat Tom Thumb one year and the next wear everyone out. Enrollment &s is absolutely the tell all.

I think your understanding is wrong bud. Just seems like sour grapes at this point

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
