Well...she holds 4 D1 offers as a Sophomore so I guess your experience is worthless.....

There are a lot of kids in that transfer portal because they sit when they get to the next level.  Just because you have an offer early does not mean it translates to being an effective player at the next level.  Just means some school wanted to be first to take a chance on a player to say they were first and not miss the opportunity.  The recruiting game is like going to the casino, it is hit or miss.  I hope all these kids make it to be honest these girls work hard and we all know the parents put enough money into the dreams of this young ladies.

I watched last night's game vs Oak Ridge on live stream and I knew she played well.  Then I saw today where she had 22 points and 26 rebounds.  Are those D1 numbers?

Actually Blackman won by 2.  Score was originally posted wrong.  Still don’t understand how game was this close though.  Any insight?

must of been like coffee county and missed a lot of lay ups and free throws while turning the ball over against a poorly coached team all while thinking about christmas break

She’s without a doubt a division I volleyball player. Her bball game needs some development to reach that level.

Blackman has looked good in the preseason.  I was impressed with Cookeville in the summer but they did not look very good earlier this week.  Oakland will get better as the season goes on and Cleveland versus Bradley will be a battle all year in East Tennessee.  Lebanon should compete in a weak district and region but their youth will be exposed at the substate and state level.  I still say the champs will come out is the East

Yrah. Bradlets closest game so far had been against Cleveland.

I think you also have to throw in Coffee and Warren into that mix.  The battle to get to Murfreesboro from that sub-state will be one to watch.  I saw that somewhere Bradley beat Blackman by 18 at Lebanon in a preseason play day.  I have also heard a lot about Bartlett but have not seen them play.

It was preseason so blackman probably didn't play starters. They did lose allot of players from last years championship whereas bradley just reloads every year

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
