Not gonna lie, film can lie. PC rolled in and by their players demeanor that thought they were gonna roll us with no issue.. but carry on

Be demeanor do you mean swagger and confidence that they could win?  I would hope any team that made the Semi’s would come in with that “demeanor”

Well if it was cockiness then I guess they backed up their cockiness.

What did they do that that you felt was Cocky?

Underestimating your opponent. Can talk about what ifs all day. They won for sure. But those who watched and were their know. Pearl was two clear fumbles blown down and one drop from being at home. I hope they win it for sure

Once again what actions did they show or do to underestimate their opponent?

Your just sounding like a sore loser if you can’t give an example of their cockiness.

Stalking the team as they walked in from both sides for one. Sore loser? Not at all. Agitating players as well

Stalking?  Are you saying PC went across the 50 yard line during warmups or They stood on their sideline while Haywood entered on both sides and part of Haywood walked in front of them?  Agitating players?  Trash talking?  Stop being so dang vague

You’ve never been to our stadium so you wouldn’t get it.

So y’all going to act like our player didn’t drop a wide open pass, that would’ve put PC up by 14 late in that game?

    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
