I agree there are positives going on around the program. And im all for leaving the stadium where its at. Just has a good feel to it being in the same spot for over 100 years. Keep adding nice amenities to it every off season helps. The moving of the field and re-leveling the whole field and endzones is nice as well. The playing surface is kept very nice, and I wonder if they will eventually consider turf since it gets a lot of games played on it in the fall. Turf would be possible once the endzone is leveled. Home bleachers will probably stay as is. Correct?

Yes no plans for the home side.  I believe the visitor side will have a wrap around it and there are plans for an elevated stair step feature like what they have at Liberty Creek but not sure where that will go.  There has been off and on talk about turf but finding corporate sponsors is the issue.  Watson wanted turf but I believe he relented since the stadium is not on campus.  I have not heard what Stroup would like to do in the long term. I would think he would like the turf seeing how USJ had it.   But you are right, over 100 years of history on that field and it had been neglected for a long time.  Hopefully things will continue to get improvements.  I know there was also talk about a Titan-Tron at one time too.  Getting the corporate sponsors is the key.  They are working on getting some.  Gallatin is definitely moving forward!!  It is an exciting time.  Things are changing with Michael Stroup and the administration’s way of doing things.  You know it is a good sign when other coaching staffs are not happy about the Stroup hire!

you or Greenwaver run that website?

Just an unbiased website clearly. Sure maybe there are newer and nicer. But there is more to a stadium than just new stuff. Not to compare it to another green and gold team, but The Packers old "Lambeau Field" is known as one of the coolest stadiums in the NFL and considered one of the top 2 or 3 places to watch a game. Is it as new or "nice" as some of the others? No. But doesn't matter.

Seating capacity  is second to none in Sumner county ! Visitor side seats more than most stadiums !

    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
    • I get all that.  And I agree too.  However, if the coach is only there to coach that would give them more time to do those things. The school system and booster clubs combine and pay them.
    • 3 sides to every story….Someone getting kicked off for saying the F word then it seems maybe your star player? Probably was the last straw.
    • who cares good luck to the kid. Hopefully he finds peace at MV.
