Regarding rumors and small college athletics...there are indeed a lot of similarities (the power of the almighty dollar!), in colleges it is the alumni who start the rumors in order to initiate change and in D2 it is the parents.

That's an interesting choice for the AD. I am sure he will do a great job, though. I am interested to see what that means next. Is he about to become the head football coach too, or are they wanting to split those positions between two guys moving forward?

Word was they were wanting to split it for a while and this was the opportune time.  It's also likely timely as the football coach search moves on and perhaps it's even a more attractive job for a football call knowing they don't have to be the AD as well.

From my understanding, the football coach has not been named yet, just the AD.

Unless it’s a very small 1A school, it’s almost unheard of for the HC to be the AD nowadays. When I was coming up 90 plus percent of HC’s doubled as AD’s.

Not only former NFL player and all-pro, super bowl champ, former UT vol, and BA player would be a very good choice. A certain no brainer.

I think it’s a great idea to split the two positions. That’s too many responsibilities for one person.
