So in other words you are saying a coach without head coaching experience that is hungry to become one.  We took that route a couple years ago.

Good hire too.Alumni that's familiar with small town ball.Ryan fit that bill for us.Small town ball is different from other classes as you know. This last fuy had no clue how to coach at a school our size!

I know of two knox area coaches that have applied. I was told both were coordinators and have not been head coaches before.  I'm sure there will be or already is a lot of interest in this job.

Yes.Had over 50 last time but somehow they hired the last guy.

How do you know he was the “last guy.” He’s gone you guys should be happy but no sense in continuing to bash him. Sounds like some of the Pirate faithful when Tim Moore left. Y’all might want to play the Frozen song on repeat.

My intent was not to bash him in no means,I was just making a statement that there was over 50 applicants the last time and they hired a guy with minimal experience and a losing record with what experience he had.And YES he was the "Last guy" to have the job.You seem very moved about this situation for some reason.I am one of those type that I like to see teams get better,it makes our side of the state that much tougher come playoff time.a bad fit is a bad fit.We don't have the issues you did with Coach Moore he could actually coach! Some of Your folks were just shell shocked when Grider left on his own and mommies got involved. We knew from the start from this coaches resume it was a big cluster from the beginning.4 trips to Cookeville and they made that hire.Alot of folks were scratching their head not just us.We will always be the team that Unaka won their first playoff game on and it wasn't even competitive! You are right in one instance---Finally time to move on!It is actually nice to talk football related issues tho!:thumb:

Is this a rebuilding project or is the cupboard pretty stocked up for someone to come in and win right away?

Do you think an old school wing t would sit well at GB? Everyone loves the spread nowadays and throwing the ball around.

That’s what’s wrong with a lot of coaches and programs. They would rather look pretty and modern than coach to their players strengths. If you have the dudes to spread it out and throw, by all means do it. But if you can’t you better be willing to adapt to their skill set. Hope Greenback can get someone good. Their community and kids deserve it.

If it works why not?I don't think you can win a championship with it tho.Unless you are stacked like an old Union City team,GCA of old or Oakland.

You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out. Not good to go to the grave with that in your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
