William Blount 2023

I was very critical of William Blount's football program and coaches after last year, so I wanted to make sure I came on and praised the boy's basketball team for an exceptional season so far and they are still playing! They've beaten Bearden 4 times this season after losing 40 in a row to them. That's no small feat. They play at Karns tonight for the region and a trip to sectionals. Go Govs! And let's hope the basketball team's amazing season can breed a culture of winning that bleeds over into football and other sports.

The final possession of that basketball game against Karns last night was something else. We were down 3 with the ball and a chance to tie with a 3-ball in the final seconds. Then Karns intentionally fouled our guy with the ball - which made sense - and they literally knocked the guy over in the process right in front of the ref and no foul was called. That was sorry and that was just one of many questionable things that were and weren't called in the game. Any how, it was still a great game and hopefully we can get a more even officiating crew in Kingsport. Go Govs!

The only possible win is Union County and that will be toss up right now. This program has dropped to an all time low and may be there for a while until feeder system is developed. They hung onto Shad to long which the effects will be felt for a while down the road. Love to be wrong but don't think I am.

I agree with Barn. The wins look sparse. Amazing how things have changed since the last win against f’n hairtage. They gotta be close to reaching the bottom. Maybe they can hit and bounce up some.

Some programs hit the bottom but I'm not so sure this is the bottom as a coma on life support. Like I said Shad stayed to long and wasn't committed or wouldn't pulled all the shenanigans like a week off during fall break while applying for every opening coming and going among other things. That's why we all gave WB so much grief on here  hoping he would get the hint and leave because it was evident no one was calling him down on it. The difference between Robert Reeves and Shad is one is a class act and the other is a Flim Flam Man. I think Robert is going to have a hard time and nothing against him but it may break an older man into with the shape this program is in waiting for the feeder system to start bearing fruit when it's actually not even started blooming yet.
