West Tennessee has caught up to the state in girls basketball. Lots of Gold Balls have been won here and the Gold Ball’s keep coming. Do think the off-season programs and AAU programs are making a difference. Lot of these kids live in the gym and that is what it takes. These kids are taking basketball serious. Upper Cumberland is loaded too and has been a while. They are confident in their teams and should be, but West Tennessee is more on a leveler playing field with them for sure.

Middle Tn not bad either / Summertown played Westview closer than MCMinn Loretto same w GC both had leads but couldn’t hold them

Just saying all classes in general West TN is starting to catch up with the Upper Cumberland. Summertown and Loretto have been really good a while as well. Upper Cumberland has been the king of Gold Balls for a while. Just think a small circle with about a 40 mile radius is catching up. Got 5 Gold Balls in last two years: Westview 2, South Side 1 and McKenzie 2.  And Greenfield, Gibson County, TCA all with Gold Balls in recent years with Greenfield and Gibson County both in Final Four during Covid shutdown. South Side and Westview also has a Silver to go along. Just saying West Tennessee is more than holding it’s own. No disrespect to Summertown and Loretto at all. You know how I feel about them.
