West TN is really down this year. The ridgeway Chester game proved that. I would say Haywood is the favorite to win it but who knows.

Credit Ridgeway for the comeback. Super quick with good defensive energy. However, to barely win that after turning over CC 33 times in 32 minutes speaks volumes as to the lack of basketball skill. Hopefully, Haywood can give the viewers a "breath of fresh air" because that last game was miserable to watch.

I'm not one to bring politics into high school sports, but in this case it can't be avoided...the liberal Memphis governments (city and school board) decision to shut down during covid gutted the basketball programs there. Kids went where they could play, the entire system was watered down from that, and the fact that the rest simply lost a year of basketball. I'd bet that the Memphis privates and Mississippi boarder schools are better than usual from it.

Volunteer was riding a hot streak from the middle of February. Ran out of steam finally. They came out of halftime ready to give it a go. Got it to within 5, but they ran out of horses. Fulton hit another gear, and it was over.

White co played decent in the first. Terrible in the 2nd. And awful in the third. Mlk outscored wc32-15 in the third to take a 22 point lead into the 4th. Wc then went on a run in the 4th out scoring mlk 17-0 to make it interesting. Only a 5 point deficit with 3 min left the female ref started fouling out wc starters. The reason we lost is we got out rebounded by 30 and missed most of our free throws. Also the female ref was one of the worst i ever seen. Give a lot of credit to mlk. They were very athletic. I agree with the earlier poster that said that most of the teams in AAA is just not very good. I wasnt really all that impressed with fulton.

Fulton was the only solid AAA team.
