What is your point? You think the Kentucky model would have encouraged more fans from MLK to attend? Basically the type of tournament you would want would be all Private schools and big city public schools and neither bring any fans to the games. A Memphis East vs Enswoth Championship Game would not draw 500 people. The 8AA District Tournament outdrew the State Tournament one year with nothing but small town community schools. Recruiting kids from every school in their. district, getting AAU coaches to pay rent for families to transfer to City, bringing in illegal kids from Alabama. You have a case of selective memory it seems. Didn't City get punished by TSSAA a couple years ago for playing an illegal player in football???? A player that got cleared by the state 3 times before he was declared ineligible by an assistant TSSAA director who stepped in due to an illness with the director at the time? School voluntary submitted his eligibility for review the 2nd time, not usually something someone does if they are trying to pull a fast one. Please let me know who these kids are that get their rents paid ? Inquiring minds want to know? Seems like you’re just a sad bitter old man who can’t stand the fact that LC is going to be the same for the next 20 years as it has been in the last 20 years, irrelavent in most boys sports. Once again posing as a magnet school instead of a private school, which is what they are in almost every sense of the word. Their enrollment is already above AA standards and I guarantee you they are pulling these kids in from all over Chattanooga and surrounding counties if I was guessing. So does anyone in the Chattanooga area have any info on this school? For some reason certain people in this city think that sending there kid to this kind of school or a private school gives them a better shot at getting noticed. Chatt Prep should definitely be looked at for their ability to recruit openly from all over the city

They are playing with 8th Graders, Freshman, and Sophomores. No excuses go beat them. Tyner is a magnet school which it shouldn't be. Im surprised Tyner has been able to stay semi relevant over the yrs with having there zone shrunk to accommodate Chatt Central and Ooltewah for sports. Tennessee Tech would be a good location being easily accessible off I-40. It would work for everyone. Murfreesboro is congested and expensive for all. Cookeville has nowhere near the amount of hotel rooms needed for the 5 day D1 basketball state tournament. It barely contains the 3 day D2 tourney with1/2 of the amount of teams involved. Great venue though. Edited March 21, 2023 by MichaelMyers76

Folks just don't get the difference unless they're part of it. Cities with 30,000 people can't put 1,200 (many not even close) in a gym for a substate game, yet small towns with 3,000 people have to have the Fire Marshall on site to cut off admission. It's interesting to discuss with them, but they'll never really understand. You've not really lived until you've been to a game with people sitting elbow to elbow and lined around the floor shoulder to shoulder!!! 1
