Who Wins District 12

I have south Side. Chester don't graduate anybody and neither does South Side. I just feel like south Side will improve a ton and Chester              probably won't be any different than this year.

Who Wins District 11

Creek Wood in this one - Sycamore can't compete moving up and Fairview will also struggle even though they had a good season.                          Montgomery in over their head

Who Wins Region 6

South Side  wins the region and Chester goes on the road and wins Sub state - both go to the state tournament

I think actually Fairview can compete with Creekwood and stands a good chance on winning that district. Fairview and Creekwood  use to be in the same District 11 AA up until about three years ago. Fairview if I am not mistaken won that district a few times.

I see they had a great year this year. I am not familiar with their team. How many starters they graduate?

Fairview has won 5 out of 6 district championships and been to substate 3x, state this year during that stretch and were missing 2 starters, one being their best player, at state.  They've done it with different groups of kids.  They return 3 starters including their two leading scorers.  They'll be the favorite in district 11 but Creekwood always has good shooters and Sycamore plays very hard and physical.

Being from West TN I don't get a chance to see those teams... Chester Brings everybody back, south Side brings everybody back (Still will not have any seniors - played all freshman and sophomores this year)... I think those two will go to state next year. But... Sounds like Fairview and Creek Wood may have something to say about that.

Fairview returns Nathan Dillingham and Mays McCoy next season.  They also bring back Bryce Embry and Jax McCoy.  They'll definitely be among the favorites in their district and have another shot to make a postseason run.

I do have to say that Fairview is impacted probably more than any other school in the area by the presence of private schools.  AJ Black (MBA) will be a junior and Nic Hyche (Ensworth) will be a senior at local private schools.  Both of those guys are FAIRVIEW KIDS who were taken by private schools.  If you add them to the roster it would instantly make Fairview one of the 2-3 favorites to win AAA next year.

Then again though if Fairview would have had Hyche, Black, and an injured Mays McCoy (plus a wrongfully suspended Jack Estes who was really screwed over by the TSSAA) on the floor this past week they would have had a great shot to win it all in AA.

There are way too many "ifs" and other personal agendas that are the cause of that being what it is which is truly sad because as good as it is one can only sit back sometimes and wonder "what if...."

the teams that make a serious run at a gold ball are the teams that don't have the "What ifs..."

With all due respect West TN and East TN aren't purged by the presence of private schools nearly as much as schools in Middle TN

They DO hv open zoning and magnet schools with highly "selective acceptances."

Athletically speaking, West TN has Briarcrest and maybe Christian Bros...East has Knoxville Webb, Catholic, and Notre Dame.

Middle TN has MBA, CPA, BA,Goodpasture, Clarksville Academy, Ensworth, Webb, Columbia Academy, FRA, BGA, GCA....MOST all within 15-30 mins drive of each other and the public schools they pull from.

Thats why middle TN dominates D2 and not D1.  Zero debate.

Oh, and 3-4 kids dont move from out of state to form super teams at the same public school either.

I think it is just as bad in Jackson

just a smaller scale because it is a smaller city.

open enrollment for middle schoolers to play anywhere they want and mix in the private schools (USJ TCA JCS sacred heart) and you would think the middle school games are an AAU event during the recruiting window in Jackson.

It did seem like private schools in Jackson were better than usual this year, was wondering if that was why Jackson schools were down.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
