I watched this online. Officiating was terrible. Way too many touch fouls on both teams. I think both teams were in the bonus each quarter. Stones size was a non-issue. Stone did a great job on Cobb in the 1st half holding him to 4 points. He did a bit better in the 2nd half finishing with 30. Supporting cast was the deciding factor. UHS came through with more help.

Cobb and Capps basically canceled each other out as I knew they would both are very good players. One big difference, Cobb it’s just a sophomore. Stone was manhandled by Chaffin and Johnson on the blocks. Both of these teams will be in Murfreesboro if they stay healthy.

Agreed. I honestly thought cobbs buckets were bigger. Huge and deep 3s that brought a lot of energy compared to Capps mid range buckets.

Yeah, I’m not sure what the strategy was there. Cobb has the green light when he enters the gym and they leave him open.  I get it that he’s 4 or 5 feet behind the line but that’s almost like a foul shot for him.

Refs ruined the flow of the game. Weak foul calls the whole night. Upperman has to find some shooters other than Cobb if they want a chance to win it all. Capps is still fun to watch but Stone isn’t as athletic as Upperman and that was the difference.

Both of these teams play really good defense. I think both coaches do a good job of utilizing their players that they have.  That being said you can always use more shooters. I don’t think there’s a team out there that doesn’t want another good shooter.  Give me a lockdown defender and I can find somebody that can make a layup.

Jackson North Side plays Jackson South Side January 17th. I will be there and give my opinion.

Appreciate that! I’m hoping the game will also be broadcasted on YouTube as the Jackson game of the week. It should be a great game by all accounts.

ill put out updated rankings at the end of this week as there should be a clearer picture with a lot of bigger games happening within districts.

Southside has been the bully on the block in this matchup for the most part. Would love to hear from someone down that way on how these two matchup against each other.

North Side guards vs South Side bigs. Which coach will make the right adjustment. North Side guards can play, but if they can't stop South Side inside it'll be over early.

The funny thing is I believe north side is bigger on paper, but these games aren’t played on paper. I fully expect it to be a great and close game.
