Yes it did. I was not there but i heard it got chippy quick with 2 fights or shoving matches whatever you wanna call it. I was told neither team put a drive on the other when they start at the 30  but OZ did score in the goal line situation.

Sounds like a fairly even scrimmage, you feller may make a little noise.

I wasn’t able to make it last night but I was told that Oneida took care of business. I figured it would go this way with the competition that was there. They go to Harriman Friday night then host Whitley Co. KY next Friday night for the final tune up before the season starts.

Yes I agree. We scrimmaged Harriman in the spring and they had a few kids that could play. That Whitley Co. scrimmage will tell a lot. They are a smash mouth ball team and very good at what they do offensively.

Hearing Cloudland run all over Chucky Doak and North Green laid it on Sullivan East. May be a pretty good game when Cloudland and NG meets.

It will be.  I watched grassroots media sit down with coach tilson and I like the man.  NG has good coaches in every sport it seems unlike in the past.  They will be a formidable opponent when they come up here.  If we don't shore up the secondary,  they could win.

Biggest question is ,will they have the WILL or ability to stop the Cloudland rushing attack. Could be a high scoring game.

Sounds like we have conflicting stories.I'll go with your story as you were actually there.

Coach Tilson is a great guy and a very smart coach. (Started at Emory and Henry and then played and coached over seas in Germany.  He was a year older than me and Greeneville's starting Center for the Greene Devils

We scrimmaged them in the spring and they hurt us with the tall receivers.  We were able to run the ball at will on our end which I think we'll be able to do to most of our schedule.   We're a little better than I anticipated at this point but can't afford even 1 injury.

I was impressed with his manner of speaking and how he broke down his roster.  They have the personnel to win the region.  It would be the first time in 25 years that someone other than a carter County team won region 1a.  Cloudland and Hampton were in 2a back in 2000 so I'm not sure who won R1.

    • the discipline issues haven’t been fixed which worries me going into tougher games
    • Story time with uncle Crow! The story of how Oneida came to be a “mini UT” is interesting and not widely know. I will give some highlights and also give the disclaimer that I will probably miss a few details or possibly just flat out get something wrong but the broad strokes as I’ve been told are this. Back in the day the Oneida colors were blue, yellow and white but the equipment was quite worn and needed replacing. Like a lot of schools in the 50’s (I believe that’s the correct time period) money wasn’t readily available. As luck would have it the Oneida coach was a recent former UT player/graduate and still was connected to the university some way. Lots of details being left out but long story short there was a load of old equipment that found its way up here to supply the Oneida program. Of course the catch was obviously the colors didn’t match so the colors were changed to orange and white and many of the Oneida traditions that are still in place today were started as a tip of the hat for their assistance and are either a version of or in some cases a direct copy of the university’s traditions.  To quote Mike Rowe, Anyway, that’s the way I heard it.
    • I keep hearing conflicting reports.  Did Polk's qb get tossed for targeting or did it get reversed?  Will have to miss the first half this week?
