District 5-5A

Who do you have taking playoff spots this season out of this district?

Shelbyville, Tullahoma, Franklin County rounded out last season top 3 but word is Lincoln County and Columbia are much improved this season!

I think Shelbyville, and Columbia are the top two, Lincoln County was young last year and should be improved, Tullahoma has some talent at RB , and receivers, but has a new QB,  and  an inexperienced  line, Don't know what the rest of the region has coming back.

Whoever the top four are coming  out of this region, will face an uphill battle getting to the second round, just as last year. Page, Nolensville, Centennial, and Hillsboro should be very good.

Don't dismiss the Tullahoma Wildcats because of their inexperienced line. They are big and strong and will be better than last year's edition. RB Marvancy Johnson and WR Khani Johnson are explosive playmakers. One of the young QBs must emerge as a leader. Defensively, the Wildcats will be young but talented, with Will Hyden, Robert Tatum, and Bronson Bunch leading the way.

The region is no better than it was last year. The only teams with speed are Shelbyville, Tullahoma, and Columbia, and I look for them to finish as the top three, with the Lincoln Co. vs. Franklin Co. game once again deciding the fourth playoff spot.

Last year, regions 5 & 6 split the opening round, with all favorites winning at home.

Based on what I’ve seen so far:

1. Shelbyville 2. Columbia 3. Tullahoma 4. Lincoln County

Tullahoma’s offense is good and should improve. I’m concerned about their run D. Shelbyville it appears, has a great running attack. Looks like Columbia will be better this year too.

I know it was against Richland but Lincoln Co did look improved last night. Ran the ball pretty effectively with #9

They competed decent last year and almost beat shelbyville. They return every key starter from that team but they’re dealing with early injuries

Hate to see the injury bug already spreading this early.

I don't want to hijack the thread here but really quick, how is Fayetteville City going to look this year? I know game one was rough. Thanks

They have the players and size to compete but they’re struggling with losing the head coach 2 weeks before game 1. I think they’ll end up bouncing back this week and getting a win over moore county

Appreciate the insight. I was hoping to make it over to City this Fri but work is taking me to Chattanooga.

I'm excited to follow all the second week games in this region. The Coffee Pot Game should be intriguing and it'll be interesting to see how LinCo does traveling to Davidson Academy. Marshall Co and Shelbyville shouldn't be too shabby either. Dang! It's good to have football back! Good luck to all!
