New classifications and alignments

That is ridiculous, they 4 class system needs to go.  I can't believe that the leaders in Hermitage can't see this.

There have been no districts put out yet. 

How would anyone know if there was a 3 team district?

Unless I misread , i was referring to science hill Dobyns Bennett west ridge and Daniel Boone . From the enrollment numbers that came out it would have them dropping out of that league leaving them with 3 teams for basketball baseball and softball . That was the only league I saw going from 4 to 3

Obviously nothing is set in stone , I’m just curious if tssaa would even entertain the thought of a 3 team district for baseball basketball and softball

You can't deny that there are 4 team districts out there. Go back to three classes, increase the number of teams in a district.

With the 3 classes most districts had between 6-8 teams which was perfect, now it’s watered down I mean 4 team districts a team could not win a game and still make the regional

The TSSAA gets all the gate money from post-season play. Why would they want to reduce the number of post-season games played?

I think part of the reason for adding a classification was the increase in charter schools in the state (mainly in metro areas)

It could be like Mississippi and Alabama and have 7 classifications.

No one denied there were 4 team districts- I asked how would anyone know if there was a 3 team district? 

No districts have been released yet and that was my point.

As for going back to 3 classifications- part of the problem is fairness? Do you think it is fair for a school in say AA to have to compete with another school in AA that has 2X's the number of students? Pretty tough to be competitive in a situation like that. 

They should have gone to 5 classifications like many of the coaches asked for. T$$AA didn't want to make changed to the post season format and now they are feeling the heat for it.

van buren , whitwell, south pitt appears to be a 3 team boys district. says richard hardy memorial high is in their district .. not sure if they have a team or not becasue they didnt play them last year...

I would have loved to see TSSAA go to five classes in football, basketball, baseball, softball. Divide everything into regions. Get rid of the district tournament week. Finish basketball at least one week sooner. Schools play the same teams in all sports.
