I agree. My thinking though is that UC is down a tad from years past. (Could be wrong). And Gleason is 3-0. Will be interesting to see how long Gleason can stay in this game. Will give us an idea of where UC truly is.

I haven’t seen Gleason play but I doubt they beat Union city

I think anybody that wins a game tonight will walk away happy no matter how they got it.  I would normally agree that tonight would be a good barometer to see where everyone stands, but anything can happen when the fields are this sloppy!  Win ugly or win pretty tonight. A W is a W.

I’m sure not a Munford fan, because they are one of Covington’s in-county rivals. But, they have won three in a row after losing their opener to us. They have swept Millington, Melrose, and Southwind. I think that they have earned a spot in the top 10, or at least they should be considered. The win over Southwind is impressive.

I agree. Them beating Southwind is huge. I thought Southwind would have won that game soundly. If wonder if the all-world qb for Southwind played in this game and if they were fully healthy?  Don’t want to take anything away from Munfords win, it just makes me wonder. Regardless it has to be noted when putting together the next poll.

And in 2022 McKenzie beat Fayetteville, Fayetteville beat, Red Bank, Red Bank beat Cleveland, and Cleveland beat Maryville. Do you really think that means McKenzie couldve played with Maryville?

Unsure but they would definitely beat this Haywood team everyone is watching tonight

You could tell in the 1st quarter Haywoods defense wanted nothing to do with Covington's line.

When you play a soft schedule all year to make yourself look good you aren’t ready to get punched in the mouth. It’s mind blowing to me how 1A 2A are tougher than 4A in West Tennessee

    • I'll invite you to stay and participate as well. Your account of penalties is closer to my memory... the first two you mentioned I didn't see because I got there when East was attempting their two point conversion that tied the game at 8, and I didn't see the flag at the end of the half. We'll have to agree to disagree about the one sidedness, but I won't argue if you feel that way as a fan because Lord knows that I've been there. I also didn't attempt to diminish East's season or cast a negative light on their players, just that the officials were horrible.
    • Lol pop pop pop...trenches wins championships. Yeah he hasnt been heard from since Nov 2014...still missing on milk cartons in Hamilton county area.
    • So, I looked at the second round playoff games in 3A and wondered how they might turn out. I used Cal-preps to project a score in each game. Here are the results. Y’all look it over and tell me if you think it’s accurate or not. Gatlinburg-Pittman 28 Unicoi Co.                  14   Alcoa.                         49 Austin-East.                0   Giles Co,                     28 Meigs Co.                   21   Sequatchie Co.           40 Chatt, Central.             17   East Nashville.             42 Sycamore.                      7   White Hse. Heritage.   31 Liberty Creek.               26   Westview.                      48 Dyersburg.                     22   Covington                       52 Bolivar Central.              14 There are only two games where the spread is projected to be 7 points or less.
    • Most fans think that. So only Monterrey improved?  Westy slapped Cannon Co around while Monty and Forrest punched each other in the mouth for 15 rds. Which team do you think is more rested and ready for a knock down drag out?
