Week 4: Oneida @ Wartburg

Recommended Posts

WHOOOOO! What a great night to get some pizza! A pretty great shutout 13-0 win by the Indians as they defeated the Eagleton Royals the other night. I believe we played fairly well, and struggled in the second half, ALOT. I believe we showed glimpses of being great, but yet have I seen it be GREAT. What was everyone’s thought on last week against the royals? How well do we think Mark Martin did? How well do we believe Jimmy May did on play calling? How do we believe the Indians played? How well do we believe that the Indians can play against the bulldogs this Friday night? It’s always tough heading down to John R. Dillon field to play some ball, especially if your Oneida. The Indians always have a rough time playing down there, do we think it will be different this year on Friday night? I’d love to see a big 42-14 win by the Indians. Let’s get after it this week, fellas. We’ve got to play GREAT against a pretty good rival of the Indians vs Bulldogs.

Score prediction for this Friday night:

As I said before, I believe I would LOVE to see a great 42-14 win against the bulldogs on their home field, but what are the odds of that? Oneida always has a tough time scoring and key mistakes and key penalties always get in the way. I believe our play calling could also do better in the upcoming games. I believe I saw Wartburg beat the Indians in a 7v7 but we also didn’t have some of the key people of the team, counting the other 5 that are unaccounted for. I believe we could have a strong running game this week against the bulldogs but our offensive line will definitely have to show up to play, and execute. I’ve saw some plays where the trenches have blocked phenomenal but that’s about 1/10 right now. We’ve got to play like that EVERY PLAY. With that being said, I’m not sure how well the Indians will play so I’ll go out on a limb,

Oneida Indians- 28

Wartburg Bulldogs- 14

The Indians have got to show me that they can build a running game for me to change my mind on this one. I believe if we can develop a running game with the big guys that this can be a big scoring game, but that’s yet to happen this season. I believe we can score big on any team, if we can get the right play calls and like I said, develop that running game.

As always though, GO BIG O!

Hope we use this week to give both qbs confidence. Let’s stretch the field and allow them to throw the ball when it isn’t an obvious requirement. I will be extremely disappointed if we end the game with 35 rush attempts.

I don’t think this caliber opponent will get any further analysis.

You better learn how to run the ball or you will be another 1st or 2nd round loss.As weak as 2A is up here this year that's not saying much.Passing the ball is a good thing but against good teams it can hurt you if you don't have the 100 to 130 yards rushing.Just typical 1A/2A ball.

A/AA ball it is usually obvious. You either have the interior guys to be great in the run game or you don’t. Week 4 is likely too late to figure much out in the run game.

I don’t see us matching up with anyone round 2 or later and over powering them at the LOS.

I think we have a few athletes who can make plays and I would love to see us utilize that when playing weaker opponents.

Probably ordered a second shrimp cocktail up in the luxury box and by the time he finished it he just couldn’t bring himself to come down there to the common folk 🦐 :roflol::popcorneater:

Yeah them orange seat folk don’t like to mingle with the fence folk. They are a little too good :popcorneater:

Oneida is clearly the better team. Will the coaching staff open up the playbook and take some shots downfield?  Will they let Wartburg linger around and gain confidence?  If they do, wartburg makes a big play and their players get happy, game turns into a rock fight. Turnovers will more than likely decide this game.  Oneida needs this game, to gain momentum.

I was there, I didn’t make it to the fence Friday night.

Well most never do. That doesn’t come as no surprise. IF you was even up in the orange seats you are not gonna be seen or wanna be seen with the fence crew. That is why we are

THE FEW THE PROUD THE FENCE CREW!
