Gordonsville vs Chattanooga Prep - 1A Playoffs

Going to be a tall task especially if we are without those who were injured last night. Tough loss for us last night. Too many injuries to overcome unfortunately and set us up for a tougher matchup in round 1. I’m pessimistic based off what we did against Chatt Prep last year, the improvement it seems they have made this year, and us being so beat up. If Foster, Williams and Booker can’t go, we will be in our 4th string RB and 2nd string QB trying to navigate through a competitive East side of the bracket this year. We will be fighting an uphill battle all the way but my prayers are with the kids who have gone down with injuries and I pray that they all have speedy recoveries. Don’t want to give a score prediction until later in the week but for now I will say - Go Tigers!

The key to beating them is making sure you are physical up front and can defend plays drawn in the dirt.  With that said, I fully believe every region 3 team advances but Sale Creek.

I'd like to see Gordonsville win for 2 reasons.

They are moving up next year, so our long history of playing them in the playoffs will be put on hiatus.

I don't want to play Prep again. If we play like we played last night then we should win, but I don't want to take that chance.

I don’t know about G’s injuries but I’m not as high on Prep as most on here. If Gordy gets their players back they win this one.

If Gords can get healthy I like them in this one.Hoping the guys that got hurt last week have a speedy recovery.

Their so athletic at the qb and receiver position that especially applies to their passing game.  That said, The  C-Prep QB is a very good sophomore QB and one of a handful of players on that team that plays with sportsmanship.  2/3 of their penalties are unsportsman conduct and personal fouls.  I wouldn't rule Sale Creek out if Clay snoozes on them given who their coach is.  They are capable of 1 good game here and there.

I will be blunt.  C-Prep had a lot of unsportsman and personal foul penalties against SP and Whitwell and suspect they would be worse the 2nd time around.  Outside of the qb and 2 other players, they have the potential to be the dirtiest team in 1a.

Athletic QB and athletic receivers is how Clay killed us. We couldn’t stop a nose bleed when Clay’s QB extended plays and delivered to their guys in open space. Nothing against Clay at all but I would be willing to bet that Prep will have more athletic skill guys than Clay did. We are in for a world of trouble Friday

It may not be wise to bet against the Blue Tigers inside the Gville Jungle, but I still say Prep runs away in this one.  

Can Gordonsville win?  It's Possible.  

Prep would have to implode though I think. 

I haven't looked across the boards but Prep could be as dangerous as any 3 seed out there.
