Gordonsville vs Chattanooga Prep - 1A Playoffs

Recommended Posts

I’m taking Prep by 21+. Gordonsville backup QB and secondary are in for a long night they haven’t seen speed like they will tonight. I don’t know if he completed a pass besides the interception after Foster went down add that to a noticeable difference in speed at the RB position when Williams went down also. If Gordy keeps it close it will be because of their offensive and defensive lines.

A charter school is different because they can not recruit  Everything charter schools do is audited. If anything public schools who are in school choice counties have more freedom than Charter schools. Charter schools are heavily under a microscope for academics. They do not get the funding state schools get as well. Charter schools typically have to fight an uphill battle on athletic facilities as well.

I read this and just looked them up. I will have agree to disagree after what I just read on the website about Chattanooga Prep.

Chattanooga Prep has more athletes and players than any team in 1A. I would say it's not real close. They have no excuse not to be playing for it all. Take a look at their basketball team. Only is existence a few years and already won a gold ball in that sport. I don't know exactly what a Charter school is but I know that it's not common for a new school to get this good this fast.

It is not common at all...heck, most teams have to build for years to have a good team in any sport, let alone to immediately have State level play especially in  basketball and football.

I never knew Gordonsville fans knew this much about charter schools. All of this is debatable but it has nothing to do with the fact that privates were separated because they have a competitive advantage to source athletes from a larger population base than public schools.
I believe that division 2 should be disbanded and everyone should compete in the six classifications with multipliers for private, charter and open zone public schools.

I didn’t mean for this topic to go down this rabbit trail, I posted before I thought.  I think Gordonsville will play well and win tonight, just a guess

I know but it just sucks to see a team of kids so talented lose because of incompetence. I believe you are one of the Marion fans that have also downplayed Marion not having great talent. That is absolutely not the case. After Groves went down they should walk to Chatt with the boys they have but will they? Coaching and decision making in big games def is the difference in winning and losing. I am just keeping it real

Quiet to the contrary my man.  I have never doubted the talent on this team the last two years.  Watching every game also I have said our offense isn't good enough to get by rd 2 or 3.  Very predictable and head scratching at times.  The defense is championship caliber.

Most of those prep basketball players have been playing together for a really long time.  It isn't like they just put them all together.
