Really isn’t right with the way the rest of the states regions are set up. I mean even if you make the playoffs whose to say you are healthy enough to compete

You can most likely look for the current Region 6 teams to be separated some going forward. With the current enrollment numbers there's no way to keep it as it is and add any teams, so some will either go east of the river, or there'll be a statewide shift to the west with some coming across the river to the west and some farther to the west going to Memphis. either way, there's too many 2A schools west of the river and east of Memphis to place all in one region.

Although I doubt anyone being placed in Memphis, it has happened before in 1A.

There could be a lot of different scenarios with the upcoming region alignments.

Region 6 has one of the strongest levels of competition in not just 2A....but in the state. It's a constant battle each and every week with some very talented teams and experienced coaches. Some of their teams missing the playoffs would win other regions.

Region 5 is not a weak region by any means and they are very competitive with each other as well, they have some good players that can take control in games and make a huge difference. It almost seems unfair that they have to play each other because within these two regions is a lot of talented teams.

Almost makes you realize why some teams elected to move up in classification.

Home field advantage comes into play for very different reasons to both 1st and 2nd place teams.

Loretto has the firepower to score lots of points

Lewis has the very same on some nights, and defensively can cause some confusion for the offense.

Good luck to all teams.....any team from Region 5 that wins will open some eyes, I see it almost going 2-2.

The old (maybe current) SEC of 2A. Really though, can anything be done about moving other teams in the region and replacing some? Riverside and Adamsville have spent time in R5.

Yeah they shouldn’t be in our region. they are long ways away from most region 6 teams. I don’t know where they would go.

The Memphis teams have actually asked to be paid to show up or forfeit. They have also showed up an hour late before lol

There've been three cycles where they went across the river (east). In those three they've been placed with Loretto, Lewis, Waverly, Hickman co., East Hickman, Houston Co. Clarksville Academy, Mt. Pleasant, and maybe a couple more that I can't recall at various times, but not all together. Scotts Hill went also, and we're back in 2A next cycle.

I agree that it's hilarious, but it also makes me mad. What a shame that those kids have to suffer through such a shoddy attempt at supporting them.

It’s horrible. I mean if my kids played football and the school couldnt afford to give the driver a $100 to drive. I would pay it myself

If you were in Memphis and the law of averages applied to you, you probably wouldn't show up to your son's games. That sounds harsh and judgmental, but when there are more kids on the sidelines than fans that will drive to an away game, something doesn't add up.

Yeah I’ve seen it. I hate they don’t have the support. I’ve heard basketball isn’t the same way in Memphis

Some aren't, but some are. Girls more than boys, but lots of boy's teams have little to no support. We went to Booker T Washington a few years back for sub-state...they had an 'Ole Miss commit and were the #1 ranked team in the state but had less than 100 fans. We knew that we were most likely going to get blown out 125 miles from home, but we filled up the visitor's bleachers. Several of our kids even commented that they couldn't believe how many fans made the trip. I hope that they remember that fondly, because I do.

Your leaving and we are adding Union City to the party. :)

the word that first came out of my mouth starts with an "S"  then  "HI"   followed by T Sorry about that. TSSAA is clearly  sadistic. I bet they looked 4 different ways to move Gibson and replace them with Westview 🤣

    • The 106, 113,126,132,175 were guys that started for us Tuesday. SO no we did not lose 14 starters between Tuesday and Thursday.  There are two more chances to seee those match ups.
    • PC was really really good before the past few years. In 2018 (just 7 years ago), PC had their best chance to win the State Championship before losing a 13 pt lead in the 3rd qtr to the eventual State Champs (Greenfield) that had, I believe, 3 D1 prospects (two played for Tn Vols).
    • This is correct. I made the exact same observation about 10 or so years ago. I used to watched PC get beat by the Clarkrange's of the world by 30-40 points. Then year after year, there were noticeable changes to the PC program. They started AAU and playing together all the time. Whether that is solely on current SC coach or the fact the players played together ALL the time, I'm not sure. But PC basketball got TONS better once that system was in place.
    • So Sammy, you lost 14 wrestlers from Tuesday to Thursday? Now I do understand the flu has sucked this year, most of Soddy had it earlier in the season and had to cancel going to a tourney. Plus it helps keep the other team healthy not having to wrestle sick guys.  Just hate sickness and injuries knocked out pretty much 14 guys that wrestled against Stone Memorial and Sam Everett!  I was hopeful to see Sudderth vs Wade and Davis vs Harris. Guess we will hopefully see those matchups in a few weeks with sectionals!
    • This game will finally be played Monday after a couple of cancellations.  Kingston is the reigning District champ and last year it was “Tellico is young, but has great potential.” and now the Bears are here, ranked t5 in the state by TSWA.  Tyner will be a tough out in region, but the winner of Kingston/Tyner/Tellico will do good to avoid Alcoa in the sectional.
