Sure I’ll take it, got nothing to lose.

If we don’t meet up at West - I’ll buy you dinner and pay off my debt.  If we meet at 3300 Sutherland Ave in 2 weeks - we can settle the bet at the concession stand after the game is over - fair?

Be careful Merit - Karma is a %#@$ - just because West has had a lucky run over the last 2 years doesn’t mean your luck can or will continue.  I think your luck has run out and 5a has caught up with you.  Enjoy your time back with the pack.  You can not and will not survive the third round assuming you make it past Halls ( who exposed you at home).  You wanna take that bet?

I hope you’re right, but I’d even be happy with a close game. Survive and advance.

West seems to have our number lately if we do get past Sevier County.

No disrespect to region 3 and 4 but whoever comes out of West, Powell, SC, and Halls is in Chattanooga playing for the Title.

PPF - should Powell and West meet up and I believe they will...I expect another Classic Game with a lot on the line. But thats why they play the games and nothing is guranteed.

Agreed on all counts, especially nothing being guaranteed. Even comparing games against the same opponents doesn’t really mean anything. Powell didn’t give up an offensive touchdown to Halls, but the Red Devils took West to OT and the following Friday, West beat Powell at our place.

Powell will need to play clean, disciplined games to get wins against both SCHS at West. Definitely an exciting time!

I’m not saying Powell's offense won’t run over SC’s defense, but I just don’t believe Powell can stop SC’s offense. SC’s offense is like a well-oiled machine, and I just can’t see Powell stopping that. Even if the passing game isn’t there, they still rely heavily on the running game, which Powell has shown they can’t stop. Powell is a good team; I’m not saying they’re not, but SC is a much better team with a much better offense. West will be a fun matchup.

I disagree. Powell’s front seven is great. The Secondary is the biggest problem for the Panthers defense. Look at how many points they’ve given up throughout the season. West scoring 30 was largely set up by kick return and a long catch and run to seal it.

I haven’t seen SC play this season, but I’m sure they’re a very good team. Powell’s o- line isn’t all that great, plus I’m not sure the status of the starting RB, Wheeler.

Agreed to disagree. I guess we will find out Friday night.

I think it should be a good game. Weather shouldn’t be a factor, since it’s not supposed to rain. It doesn’t look like either team has had many close games.

Powell went 0-2 in the close ones. 28-25 at Anderson County and 30-18 vs West. It was 23-18 when West scored on a long catch and run late on a third and medium.
