Divide and conquer. Again, this is personal FUD from you. Do better

It's not FUD, it's the truth! Eden and Vetetoe have both done their time to become head coaches. What has Gregory done? Absolutely nothing! Everywhere he left, they improved instantly: Westmoreland, Macon, Trousdale the first time, Trousdale Middle School.

Eden and Vetetoe would have definitely fixed the coachable things and been competitive though. The players gave up on Gregory and don't have faith in him!  Gregory looked lost on the sidelines last year!

Nobody's giving up on Gregory except you. He has put the right coaches in the right places to be competitive & successful. Eden as OC & West as DC will make a huge improvement. They will win some games this year & be competitive. Has Vetetoe been a head coach of any football team?

There is a fundamental problem with all sports in Trousdale County. The basketball team just went 3-20, is anyone calling for the basketball coach to be fired? No, nor should they. Coach Sleeper and his staff have proven to be good coaches over the years. Did they just forget how to coach this season? All of those transfers would have benefited the basketball team also. TC also lost two great 8th graders before arriving to high school. Cornwell and Stott would have both been starters for football and basketball. It's even affecting the girls basketball team also. As far as I know, none of these student athletes transferred due to athletic reasons. The problem goes far above the coaches

If your argument is about the kids and relying on them moving up, then why wasn’t West named OC, considering he knows them and how to utilize them? Or was Eden’s defense so weak that they had no choice but to move him to OC and bring in Vetetoe to assist as well?

Most of the people I still talk to from Hartsville are fed up with it; it's not the losses, it's how the losses are happening. They're not even competitive. Gregory has never been on a state championship staff. I'm not sure if the West guy has or not, I don't know who he is. Eden was on staff for 3 championships at Trousdale. Vetetoe has played a large part in Oakland's success the past decade and was a state championship offensive coordinator last year. Besides getting handed the head coaching job he has now, what exactly has Gregory done?

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. Guess what the one thing all these sports have in common, they share and win/lose with the same athletes!

The coaches can only control what they can control. In my opinion, the coaches don't have as much control over this situation as they should have.

This might be the dumbest statement I've read on this thread so far. How do football coaches not have control over coaching football?

Glad someone finally asked. The coaches are so limited on time, not because they want to be, but because administrator make them leave by 7 each night. Can’t lift weights during the school day because administrators won’t add it to the curriculum. Coaches can’t use social media to promote their program or their players. Multi sport athletes never get to workout because we can’t bring them in before school. They are forced to practice in the afternoons in July because administrators for them. So their hands are tied behind their backs. Again I know you don’t care about other sports, which is a shame, but it negatively impacts all the sports. All the other programs we have to play against don’t face these problems

Oh, I see the issue now it's not that coaches don’t have control over football coaching, it’s that they don’t have control over everything else they wish they did.  Maybe instead of blaming the system, working within it might be a better game plan.

That’s exactly what they are doing and you see the results

Vetetoe was HC at JSMS for 2 years when he first started. 2010-12? Been freshman HC at Oakland for 4-5 years. I think he went like 44-1 in that time with his offenses averaging 40+ppg in one of the most talented counties in TN. I think if you have ever been around him coaching, you would understand why so many want him back at TC. I think several in the school system would vouch for him as well. Has 100+ wins as baseball HC at TC and Lebanon. Took a very young sophomore heavy team to substate first year as baseball coach at TC. We have all followed him for years, if you know his story it is quite impressive. But still don’t know how it’s possible some think he leaves Oakland OC job for TC job. The fact that he would even consider it should tell people how much he truly still cares about TC. As someone else said earlier, KG is having to try to right a lot of wrongs by those of the past and it’s not easy. I understand last year was rough but time is not on the currents staff side. With one time transfer coming and the jackets losing, the “talent” that’s coming will find its way on others sidelines and it’s already started to happen.

Well tell the people you talk to in Hartsville to keep their negative talk away from the team. These coaches & players are turning this program around so stay tuned. Eden is a great coach & will prove how experienced he is as OC. West graduated from Trousdale in the 90s & has a ring. He was DC of a 6A football program, administrator in Macon, & has been the head coach of jsms the past few years with 2 undefeated regular seasons & a conference championship last year. Gregory has head coaching experience prior to this job unlike Vetetoe.

What HC experience does Kyle got prior to his current job besides MS football?

    • Dead Period does not mean the fans can't talk about football. 59 days and counting to opening season kickoff for most teams. Also wanted to share a picture of Coach Ted Wilson who won State Championships at Maryville in 1970,76 & 78 on his 91st. birthday a couple of weeks ago with his kids a lot of us went to school with. Coach is wearing his Kingsport D-B jacket which I know a lot of their fans would enjoy seeing. .
    • Any thoughts on what you seen these past few weeks? Got to see several top teams as well as players and some who didn’t live up to the hype.  Some players of note. My personal observation was that Chelby Jordan was the best player I saw. Great skill set and great attitude, definitely should be getting more love as she was the best player on the floor every time. EB McDonald has taken a big step and should have a great year. Roberts girl from Grace continues to impress and they should be a tough out. Bartlett didn’t seem to be playing everyone, not sure if they’re injured but seemed to have 2-3 sitting the few days I saw them. Bradley Central isn’t the world beater they have been but definitely still good enough to win it with Kimora. Some of the private schools looked strong, PCA and Lipscomb well coached, Ensworth had some young talent but look lost at times.
    • They were missing 2, one being Chaffin. Johnson had hand surgery right after the state tournament. He was just released to play the day before BCAT started.
    • State tournament has nothing to do with Miss Basketball. It's a regular season award.
