Nobody is being patient with Gregory. He just went winless for the first time since the 50s. Is that what you meant by "old school Trousdale"? That is unacceptable, and if it was an outsider, every single one of you would be calling for them to be fired.

EVERYBODY knew how last season was gonna go. Go back & read threads from last summer/fall. Even Nick Saban couldn't have won a game with last year's team. And neither could Vetetoe... And I like Vetetoe but hopefully he'll help with the middle school since his son's still there. The "old school Trousdale" began after last season ended. You're just impatient.

EVERYBODY knew that they were Gregory's players when he was the head coach at the middle school, so you're right, they knew they would go winless. Thanks for proving my point.

There is a fundamental problem with all sports in Trousdale County. The basketball team just went 3-20, is anyone calling for the basketball coach to be fired? No, nor should they. Coach Sleeper and his staff have proven to be good coaches over the years. Did they just forget how to coach this season? All of those transfers would have benefited the basketball team also. TC also lost two great 8th graders before arriving to high school. Cornwell and Stott would have both been starters for football and basketball. It's even affecting the girls basketball team also. As far as I know, none of these student athletes transferred due to athletic reasons. The problem goes far above the coaches

Gregory is not the reason they went winless. Like i said nobody else could have won a game last year either. Lack of talented upperclassmen & no player leadership caused by a previous coach who ran the program into the ground IS the reason. Tell us just who you think could have done better?

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. Guess what the one thing all these sports have in common, they share and win/lose with the same athletes!

The coaches can only control what they can control. In my opinion, the coaches don't have as much control over this situation as they should have.

Nobody cares about anything in Hartsville except football! Gregory didn't forget how to coach either! How can one forget if they never knew how to coach in the first place?

FUD. Neither of them was winning with that team last year. Even the good ole Clint himself could not win with circumstances surrounding these athletic programs.

Eden and Vetetoe would have definitely fixed the coachable things and been competitive though. The players gave up on Gregory and don't have faith in him!  Gregory looked lost on the sidelines last year!

I Can agree, but explain hiring a coach that’s way younger way less experienced.. basketball and baseball have good leadership and good coaches. I guess this is why Kyle went from OC to HC, but now that he’s HC he doesn’t coach anything really and doesn’t call either side of the ball. He didn’t even coach the OL last year, and it showed. Belcher quit cause he couldn’t handle the heat of a losing season. That in my opinion is what the HC is good at.
but this is not on Kyle as much as it is on Blake. Kyle is reaping the rewards of Blake’s hard work…lol and we don’t have the most talent, but I know of several teams that wasn’t talented but was hard nose tough and was very competitive.

    • Agree with most of this and add that it takes a "type A" personality to be successful as the top guy. Lots of folks are knowledgeable of the game, have the skills to co-ordinate scheduling, officials, duties, rosters, etc... What they lack is natural charisma and the innate ability to convince young men that they care for them, and what they're teaching them will make them successful if they contribute their effort. Football can be learned...leaders are born.
    • Understandable. I honestly couldn’t remember. When you lose your starting QB especially in high school it’s a big blow
    • Gotta keep it real here.  Nobody is twisting their arm making them coach football.  There are more high school football coaches around here than ever.  Schools that have the same enrollment today as they had 50 years ago have 5-6 coaches instead of two.  Every head coaching vacancy will get a flood of applications.  Well over 20 at West Carroll from what I read earlier in this thread.  There's more men getting into coaching each year than are getting out.  The fact is that there are far too many high school football coaches out there.  Like I said, just keeping it real.
    • Off the top of my head WV finished 3rd and RC finished 4th. I think both lost close games in the first round. Overall they were pretty evenly matched last year.
    • I’m gonna be tapped in for that Marion Co. game 🪶 🔥
