Scheduling possibilities of Beech vs Gallatin

A tough regular season schedule is good for getting a team familiar with what good competition looks like, but it’s pretty overrated in the grand scheme of things. MJ could schedule the Detroit Lions and it wouldn’t make them any more or less likely to beat Oakland in the quarterfinals.

You’re either good enough to win it all or you’re not. Our two state title teams had notoriously easier schedules than recent years.

The local paper had an interview with Coach Counce and said Beech, Brentwood, Haywood Co, Page, and Franklin Road Academy would likely be HC’s non-region games.

Actually how’s this for a solution?  You could involve the SumCoBOE and create a dedicated 6A region like Clarksville did.  It would include Gallatin, Beech (playing up), Station Camp (playing up), HHS (playing up) Liberty Creek and White House  (playing up 2 classes)

Every SumCo school gets a shot at Gallatin and every other year gets to play on the new field at Upper Station Camp Rd.

The county saves tax dollars on travel. The fans watch  their team play 5 local games (without ever leaving SumCo) and SumCo is guaranteed 4 teams in the playoffs.

Wins for everyone

what do you think @brian2000 @Bump11 @kappy @eers @JacketLover @DbCooper @GREENWAVE84EG @Kevin38

I see where he’s coming from, but over the course of a few seasons it changes the culture. As far as individual seasons go, it makes the next game just that, the next game. Talent wins in the end in most cases, but being prepared mentally and physically sure helps.

I don’t believe a program grows by playing the same bad talent year after year.

Iron sharpens iron.
