I have a New Version of Silver Bells that I thought of after the Milan-Marion Co games… Here goes. Silver Ball, Silver Ball, it Christmas Time in Milan. They didn’t get the Ring, And Now they feel the Sting. Today it was Marion Co. Day…… That is a Number One hit if you ask me. 2nd Place again and No you can’t Blame playing Alcoa on this one. 😂🤣

And they joined the eight others that brought home a silver ball while those who are on here poking fun only wish they had the opportunity.

Congratulations to Marion Co. They were a solid, well coached machine. Bulldogs had a tough time running the ball. Comer's offense doesn't have the outstanding QB he's used to to move the ball consistently thru the air . Comer is a great coach when he plays Huntingdon. He's a good coach when he plays everyone else.

Marion as a team only rushed for 115 yds.  Peete rushed for 115 himself.  Milan qb appeared to play a pretty solid game other than an ill advised lob pass on the first drive.  Receivers had the dropsies.  That isn’t on the qb. Marion capitalize on Milan mistakes.  Marion made no mistakes.  I saw a defensive struggle on both sides.

Marion rushed 28 times for 113 and Peete had 27 carries for 114. Milan averaged 3 yds a rush which was actually pretty good considering Marion had held the 4 playoff teams they've faced to under 2 yds a rush. Marion passed for 140 and before that last pass by the backup qb that went for 44 yds Milan had 6 total yards passing. Most knew that a 1 dimensional team would probably not beat Marion. Milan had 1 drop that may have gone for a TD but Marion left a couple TDs on the field as well. Peete is a very good RB and is deserving of all the honors he has received but to me Pickett is the more versatile weapon. He showed that on Saturday. Good luck to the Bulldogs next year.

Pickett and mays are major division 1 players whether he signs with 1 now or hits the portal during his time,  it’s the most talented team the county has seen since idk when maybe Pitt 2010.

It was a good clean football game. The team making the fewest mistakes won. Marion played hard and had a good game plan. They capitalized on some big plays against a pretty stingy Milan defense.

Marion’s defense was pretty stingy too. They didn’t give up on plays and got to the football. Well coached team.

Congrats to Marion.

Things have been changed in order to make the site better...unfortunately, one of the side affects to those changes was/is a glitch that isn't allowing profile pic's to be updated. Some posters who occasionally change theirs have "lost" them because of this...you may remove the old one, but not insert a new one. I'm just a dummy who has paid attention to the webmaster's explanation to others, and he's optimistic that you'll be able to make those adjustments later on.

EDIT...

OOPS!! Foot in mouth again...posted before I read through and saw where ST gave you a better version.

All good brother, I appreciate the help.

It was a defensive struggle definitely.  Peete was good but Marion didn't give up any big plays outside of the long pass at the end.  Longest run was what 10-12 yards?  Milan was huge up front but didn't really take advantage of it much, and couldn't after they got down two scores in the 2nd half.  Mays was a big reason why also.  Milan qb play was not good.  They dropped one pass that I could remember.  Pretty blanketed coverage all night.  Mc hit a few big plays and leaned on the defense.  They did what they had to do to win.   I said before this game that if Milan was one dimensional they wouldn't beat us and also said our qb play was key all year.  Tilton got better as the year went on.
