Then why did they change it?  I looked up when they had that rule for a short period of time and also had the Private School and Public Schools still playing in the same division and made the Private Schools take their zone as the closest public school near them. (I don't like when a non school entity tries to tell a school what their school zone is and should be up to their own Board of Education.)    Now they are having a Private School Championship from A-3A thats separate from the Public Schools.

I dunno. We got a new Executive Director, but I'm not sure if that had anything to do with. Privates in 1A-3A play in regions with publics in regular season, and then have separate playoffs. They also did away with Class 7A this year. Also, unlike Tennessee, Georgia has one set of classifications for football and all other sports.

Isn’t that the one where the California kid came in and played QB a few games before moving on to ATL?

I think they even showed him living in the dorms… sorry apartments down the street from the stadium.

Where they were throwing the football is close to 426 N. Wright Road, Alcoa. It's close to Cochran Street and Wright Road. It would be considered the Rock Gardens neighborhood of Alcoa. It's right across the road from the South Plant.

Yes, QB for defending national champion Harding University.  Harding University's football team is known for its triple option offense, which involves running the ball and rarely throwing it. The Bisons have been climbing the ranks of NCAA Division II football, with nine playoff appearances and a national championship in 2023. Harding's scoring offense is also often ranked among the top in the country. For example, in 2024, the Bisons led NCAA Division II in scoring offense with 51.3 points per game. This will be a perfect fit for Eli Graf.

It's nice to hear you speak so highly of my Alma Mater. GO BISONS

Not that it matters in this discussion but ask someone on the inside about that lawsuit...TSSAA came precariously close to bankruptcy litigating that single case. I get that you see the evident "unlevel" playing field as a problem, but that's not in TSSSAA's power to adjust, even if they (I'm guessing they wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole) had the incitive. Whomever you see as being restricted...they have the unbridled authority to remedy it immediately if they choose to, just as you have the authority to attend a meeting of the board, and as for it to be addressed publicly.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, or other explosive devices.

I'm sure they are afraid of a lawsuit after they almost went bankrupt fighting that one case like tadertwo said and barely winning 5-4 on a Vote.  Imagine a class action with multiple public schools going after you for trying to put a rule that could dictate how a school board has to  word their School Board Policies. I don't think the TSSAA wants to open that can of worms

Like I stated before ever public school has the same playing field, it's if your school board wants to admit and attract what is classified as "Out of Zone" Students.

Like l said to Trader, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

You’re right it doesn’t but it also makes you not want to take a chance and pick up another hand grenades because there might not be nothing left of you that next time….

hIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PAYS WELL APPARENTLY

If you were that far off about a figure that is easily accessible, then it's a good bet that you are wrong about lots of things and make your posts solely on emotion. Being a native of Virginia who lived and worked in East TN for 34 years before retiring to South Florida, I've been to a handful of games at Alcoa, but have no emotional ties to them. I'm also willing to admit that they (along with Murville) have got this down to a science in terms of building and maintaining great football programs. Do they "recruit"? Sure they do, but they are just two of many. If you really want to see recruiting, you should take a look in South Florida where many of these kids will change schools every year, depending on what kind of deal they are getting.

    • Never underestimate a woman, Wompuscat, especially a Grandma.  I make a checklist daily, don’t you? The  photo you referenced was grabbed online from  a Standard Banner post, but my phone is full of videos and  photos from that same press conference. Sadly, I don’t know how to post them on Coach T directly from my phone. I don’t believe your friend Kevin was even in town that day, unless he really was was hiding behind the Lord  at the press conference. I heard he was hob nobbing with the governor that day.     As for Jay Lowery, my grandsons will vouch for his ability to teach high school boys calculus and make it taste good, without even adding sugar!    Who  agrees, that is a skill rarer than being a winning football coach?   Another Lakewsy home run!   Thanks for the meal suggestion, Wompuscat. Cornbread sounds good on a cold February day.  Think I’ll make some onion & potato soup to go along with it.  Still interested in knowing about “your” football programs that do things the right way.   I am currently in a learning mode, but for now  the kitchen calls.
    • Especially considering they will do just like the coaches that put on a Lions pullover… they will run for the exits.    Unless they take calculus. Then they will stay forever, fabulously.
