Proposed Transfer Rule Change

It is the absolute right thing to do, these young men and women need to have the ability to move if the situation dictates it.  A lawsuit would force the change at this point, it is way over due and a change that is needed now.

So certain schools can buy up the talent? If this passes, bad things will happen to high school sports as we know it. Inner city public schools will be devastated. Small privates will be hurt as well.

There are already rules in place for a kid who wants to transfer to another school. There is no good reason for high school athletics to turn into a wild west recruiting show.

There is no reason to fight this. Families will do whatever is necessary to make a transfer happen anyway. Besides, why do schools want to keep a kid that don't want to play there? More times than not the kid just quits & don't play there anyway. Are adults more about "if we can't use/have you, nobody should" mentality?

There are already rules in place which allow student to transfer. We don't need further rules to muddy the waters

I think the rules are clear, but the hardship cases are very muddy. This is particular true for students going from private to public, they seem to get hardships granted much more frequently than public to private. (Claim is can’t afford tuition). I have seen this in Chattanooga many times. However, I agree the grass isn’t always greener. This will be interesting.

Let’s hope a new transfer rule allows a simplified and fair system for families, it is long over due
