Several that I’ve heard. Do not remember names, but remember schools current head coaches. That doesn’t make any sense if he wasn’t made aware that there would be no football block until after he was hired. Seems like he accepted a totally different job than what he showed up to perform.

No one knows what the schedule will be.  To assume 45 would be foolish.  My wife and I have a few friends who work at the high school and up until Friday they said he was going to meetings throughout the week.  He immediately went back to Covington.  His wife never moved.  This isn’t complicated

if your football coach is quitting because of decisions the schools makes in an effort to increase ACT scores, I don’t think you had the right guy

The football and basketball players would still probably get their last class as a sport. So essentially all this would do is shove more classes into one day  while having less classes in the school year for the typical student . The athletes would have 6 a year regardless plus their sport. Also student athletes typically get better grades and have higher test scores than non-athletes. So maybe more kids should join sports and other activities instead of going through school on autopilot.

This is a dream, but not reality.

School ends at 3, and the players have to change to get into their practice equipment. Practice is probably not starting by 3:30/3:45 at the earliest.

What high school team is practicing for two hours and have great on field success? 

Regardless, Henry County has dropped the ball.

If you can’t get done what you need to get done in 2-2.5 hours in high school football your practices are inefficient or you don’t like to be at home with your family. If a coach wants to be done at 3 like the other teachers they should make the same pay as the other teachers 
 

I personally think HC dodged a bullet rather than dropping the ball

Or maybe they should do school during school and extracurriculars after school

You’re forgetting meetings, film, weights and conditioning. Does he have to mow and paint the field or does Henry Co have people do it for them?  JV games and freshman games on Monday and Tuesday. he may be done at 5 on Thursday after walk throughs but that’s it. That extra hour and a half is absolutely essential to a coach when deciding if he’s going to move his family two hours away.

Thats why he gets paid more than a regular teacher. If you went into education and coaching thinking you were going to go home at 3 o’clock you went into it the wrong profession
