The entire Warriorette basketball team and the LA transfer went before the WC school board last night and made the case as to why she should be playing. We'll see what happens.

I  know very little about this situation but the hearsay is unreal and I'm sure the truth is in there somewhere! I've read quite a bit about it just on the message boards with people swaying both ways. IMO it didn't seem like it was AS big of a deal when Selby was healthy. Now that she's out, the issue is really being pressed. Just go win with your own players! The group that Dodgen has playing now is capable of big things! It's almost an insult to those kids who have stepped up for him and filling roles in big way.

White County is winning with its own players. However, its a shame that a senior that has been cleared by the TSSAA is being held back from playing by a board member who may or may not have their own personal agenda. I don't care if it's a player capable of significant playing time or a girl that always sits on the bench.

Agreed!  Some biased adult is trying to ruin this child’s senior year which she can never get back. What a sad individual

Yep. Some personal vendetta???

Just my understanding of the situation… the school did a home check on her and the family to make sure she actually lived at the address they gave the school, the place was getting renovated and the family wasn’t there at the time of the check and there was no physical signs they lived there so that disqualified her to play right away because there was no “change of address” which if she wasn’t a senior she would get to play next year… still sucks she has had to do this her senior year and I hope I’m wrong and she gets to play soon.

Home check? Child protective services or Department of human service

    • Then they certainly are not putting any emphasis on turning around the program unless they truly believe the answer is already a staffer or in the building. Like I said before, initially this was a very intriguing situation when they were reportedly in discussions with some high level guys but the intrigue has gone now. It’s more curiosity than anything else as it doesn’t seem like anything of real significance is likely to happen.
    • To my knowledge, Casey Prather (North Side) and Robert Hobbs (Dyer County) are the last two players across West Tennessee that went to play SEC ball out of High School. Varnado (Haywood) played at Troy, he graduated high school 10 years ago. You also have Willie Kemp and Wayne Chism from Bolivar.  I can't think of anyone else that went to play major college basketball as well, especially recently.  When you think of Memphis players, I cannot think of anyone playing SEC ball or major college ball other than Kam Jones for Marquette, he went to ECS.  It's just the talent is not there. Simple as that.
    • That picture on CoachT's home page is pretty sweet
    • Yes I’m with you!  Girls basketball is even worse!  It will happen eventually
    • Hillsboro and Webb were the best teams Maryville played this year.  Hillsboro was really good.
