She still has offers to play at next level.  I can’t remember is she committed or not.  I am sure she is practicing with them and working on her game.  She played this summer with them is the weird part.

She has committed to a college in New York.

Same thing that happened to Southside boys. They got beat. It happens.

I also never proclaimed to be the “ best in 3A” either! Sk I just that would be the difference. But yea it was a great win by north side, they are a good team that is well coached!

I got a buddy that has a son that plays in Memphis all the time especially in spring and summer and he says that a lot of the Memphis kids swap up by saying their parents are not raising them or that they can't be located some times or they have no home....etc...I don't guess they are ever questioned. It is bad too with players swapping teams. I know TSSAA has bylaws on custody rulings, primary custody...etc...Seems like Memphis is the wild west.

Memphis Shelby County Schools have tons of optional schools. Kids can attend any school with an optional program where they are "accepted".

Any student can claim homelessness. Even if they are not homeless. In an urban area, a kid can move schools, use a new address that is a shared residence, grandparents, aunt/uncle, brother/sister, church member, guardian's coworker, etc... no one is going around from the TSSAA checking to see if the kid lives there.

The municipals like Bartlett and Germantown Municipal have open enrollment. So they can get the kids early and not have to worry so much about all of that. The private schools poach kids young too. The public schools will recruit your kid in the handshake line after a game.

I don't know why people complain so much about this. If you don't understand the contrast of rural TN to urban TN then move to the urban area so you can partake in the same shady dealings.

Yeah I don't know that there is a rule in the bylaws for homelessness. Thought in the past even in a divorce the custodial parents residence won over if a kid has a HS record. I don't know now what the rules are now. Pretty obvious it is the wild west unless someone turns them in.

Even if someone turns them in I doubt there will be an investigation.

Not much matters until the district tournaments start next week but there are some pretty good games in 3A tonight.

Upperman at White County

South Gibson at Dyersburg

Sevier Co (4A) at Cocke Co

Lenoir City at Heritage - went to OT in their first game

Major implications for the District 13AAA Tournament tonight. A win by the Lady Trojans locks the #1 seed. Entering tonight, we know that Crockett County is locked in the 2-3 game and that Dyer County and Obion County are locked in the 4-5 game. Districts are at Dyer County.

A win by South Gibson locks up number 1 seed as well right??

For all intents and purposes it would. However, SGC and Obion County chose to make up a game after the regular season. With that said, SGC has two district games remaining after tonight. And even though Obion is winless, I’ve learned to never say too much until all the games are final.

    • Most seem to be opting out all together, some are going to Scott and yes that is sort of out of the frying pan and I to the fire situation I agree but they feel they can at least have fun playing ball there for one year. That’s something they say they haven’t experienced to this point in HS. I thought you said some were coming to CF? I know you’re a smoke blower most of the time. So was that more smoke or have you really heard that. I’m working off memory and haven’t went back to check if it was you to be honest so if not and it was someone else then my bad and I apologize.
    • Prior to Caine and other positions just to get him in the building. No, AC isn't going anywhere, at least for another year!
    • Well the off season they got the helmets refurbished to purple, think I heard he sat down with the players threatening to leave and they’ve all stayed as of now, or because TSSAA didn’t pass the one time transfer rule, they made a tik tok account, hired an alumni that played at Bethel on the DLine, OC stayed the same unless HC calls plays, and moved their LB coach to DC, there having an open practice for the public on the first day of full pads this spring, and I think there spring game is against Page JV again. Also heard rumors going around that their returning QB is out 13 weeks due to an injury during baseball season.
    • Reign man you think Upperman was gonna get rid of Caine to bring in Hughes? They may have reached out to see if he wanted to be assistant but I'd say Caine is untouchable as he should be!
