AAAA Region 2

Maryville and West meet in the semifinals in the District 4 tournament. Bearden and Farragut are on the other side.

District 3 has Oak Ridge vs Halls and Campbell county vs Powell.

West is a sleeper this year. Oak Ridge is overwhelming favorite in district 3. 
 

Who will represent Region 2 in the sectional this year?

District 4- Bearden, Maryville, Farragut & West

 

Oak Ridge, Powell, Bearden & Maryville will host the Region quarterfinals on Saturday

 

Oak Ridge will likely beat Powell tonight for the D3 Championship so the Region semis will be hosted at the Wildcat arena next week

Farragut +10 over Powell.

Maryville running clock over Halls.

Oak Ridge +3 over West.

West is athletic and talented enough to get the Ridgers BUT the Ridge is also good enough at home to beat West by 20+

Will be fun next Tuesday in the semis. One of my favorite nights of the years... two elimination games back-to-back in the same venue. You don't get that with any other HS sport.

This region tournament will be a battle this year.   The first round match up between West and Oak Ridge will be the best game of the first round.  Depending on which West team shows up.

I think Bearden and Maryville win big and Farragut should beat Powell.

A region semifinal matchup between Oak Ridge and Bearden will be an absolute classic.  Especially the way the season ended last year for the Wildcats.

Look out for Maryville....they are peaking at the perfect time of the season.

Agree here. Looks like Maryville is peaking at the right time after a lack luster regular season. Cannot sleep on a talented Farragut team. They could give Maryville a run for their money in the region semifinal game. Oak Ridge should beat a slumped West at Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge and Bearden is an absolute toss up.

OR, Maryville, Bearden, and West can beat one another any given night. Should be interesting. As an OR fan, I feel pretty good being we have a SR dominated starting lineup. That usually pays off this time of the season. Also, I think we may have a chip on our shoulder after what happened last season. But, like I said, any of those 4 teams can beat the other on any given night.

A couple really close games and a couple anticipated blowouts last night. Ready for Tuesday. OR-Bearden should be a great game. Maryville-Farragut could be really good as well.

West really pushed OR hard, down 10, they came back and made a game of it and plenty dicey at the end for OR. Good job by OR not to crack and close the game out by making free throws. They need to do a better job at taking care of the basketball and avoid turnovers. Glad they had a close game because Bearden is very good and has beaten OR once this season. OR really needs their A game to advance to the Region Finals and a Sub State game.

OR hasn’t played Bearden this season, that I’m aware of.

you are correct.  He must have been looking at the girls scheduled.  Bearden beat OR in the Holiday tournament in Greeneville.

Tonight's matchups in Wildcat Arena are going to be incredible.   First game pits Maryville vs Farragut.  Maryville is peaking at the absolute perfect time of the year.  On the other hand, it is hard to beat a team 3 times in a row.... example (Bearden vs Maryville in District Championship).      Going to come down to coaching in this one, and I believe the Rebels have the distinct advantage in that catagory.

 

Bearden vs Oak Ridge is going to be a battle.  I think these two teams are probably in the top 5 in the state in 4A.  I have a feeling this might come down to whoever has the ball last.  Two athletic teams with incredible coaching staffs.    This is a toss up..... I just hope the Popcorn is hot and fresh
