Pemberton leaves CCHS

Pemberton is a good football coach no way was he staying in jacksboro.

I wonder why he ever took that job in the first place, didn't make any sense from the git go.  Did he need 1 more year to reach 30 year TCRS full retirement benefit?  The whole thing was bizarre.

He wanted Clinton job but the brass at CC wasn’t happy when they heard he was interested in it. They did not want him to leave so close so going to KY was the move for him. He caused too many internal problems. CC fans were never going to buy into his offense, even though I thought it fit that community well, they already got a taste of sling the ball and enjoyed scoring points while losing.

It'd take a big investment to turn that program around, I didn't think wing t would translate all that well with Campbell either, I think he would be better off elsewhere and Campbell County deserves better as well just wasn't a good fit in my opinion.

You gotta have good, fast athletes to make the Wing-T work in the higher divisions of HS football. If CC were 2A or 3A, they might have more success with it. Kevin Creasy figured out his style would work at Oakland because of the demographics. It also worked at 1A Trousdale Co.

It works when you have good players that buy in.  Good players are few and far between in Jacksboro, sorry, it's just true.

He didn’t want to be in the same county as the Mavs especially when the only other option here is Clinton haha.

Sheriff you sure seem to know a lot about Clinton job & Clinton politics. If I didn’t already know you were an OR supporter I would think you were a Dragon!

I know for a fact he was interested in the Clinton job.
Not a supporter of either program. Ask the OR faithful on here. They hate me when I bring up the truth that they don’t want to hear. Just like you with your program. All I do is let the people know what goes on behind the scenes

He was in a no win situation from the go, it would have taken him at least 3 years to find a group of kids to run the wing-t effectively. Plus, those players were use to the spread and go offense from the previous staff.  I think the biggest issue that CC faces, is keeping all quality players at home. The Price twins saw the writing on the wall, and found greener pastures. I’m not sure they can ever win in 5A under the circumstances they face.  CC might be able to compete in 3A but that will never come around with their enrollment. I think Pemberton saw the this situation and knew he had to get out. I actually feel sorry for that community and school because there is some good people trying but to no avail.

Yeah I  didn't picture there being to many speedsters up there in Campbell County, wasn't a whole lot at rhea county either but they made it work.

the mind of Booger thinkin that Pemberton feller had bout 20 years of HC experience to fall back on before resignin at RC to take over that Jacksboro job.....and that not includin assistant coachin duties

...so what part of that spread and go offense in Jacksboro did Pimberton not know those kids were used to runnin....and that it was gonna take 3 years to find kids to run his Wing T before leavin Evensville....so Pimberton just woke up one mornin puttin 12 years of Evensville in his rearview mirror so he could take his next dream gig in Jacksboro without any knowledge of what was there

...and those twins had bout 11 seasons of losin records...with only bout 4 winnin seasons....Booger Math says thats bout 14 or 15 years to see that writin on the wall...

....or not see

    • Football isn't in a mess Middle School has great staff with solid coach who Is gonna be around for long time!High School has 6-7 solid assistants best group of assistants they've ever had in my opinion ,coming off a 10 win season and several players returning! The supplement deal I'm sure will be discussed and several of the coaches will be glad to have the assistants in place! It's not like Monterey and Jackson county etc are loaded with a ton of staff!10 or so have applied so it's appealing to several it looks like!Baseball different story but it's been handled from what I hear!Parents who know a coach personally and text and say sure would love you to apply if ya didn't do that would disappoint me!End of day Crain,Wilson and admin do the interviews and hiring but community and players can weigh in that's part of it!Beaty got hired because assistants and kids spoke up and wanted him and it was successful for most part!Beaty just didn't wanna put in all the time a head coach has to and stepped down no drama it was a life choice!
    • Haven’t seen you in here in a while Moon Man.  How are you doing?
    • Well, that is a valid point. 1/3? Can confirm that number has dropped drastically.
    • Surprised that anyone knew about what? Some transferring to CF? What you think you’re the only one that knows players/parents 😂. I said I’d have to see it to believe it but considering how buddy buddy Oneida and CF students are nowadays I don’t think it’s as much of a stretch as in years past. I mean it seems like about 1/3 of the Oneida student body are dating students from CF anymore 😁
    • I’ll say this, I’ve never seen so many kids either quit or transfer. Especially coming from a small place. I know what I think and what would probably work but hey, I don’t make the decisions around these parts.
