I would much rather see good Tn wrestlers at App State, UTC does not support the sport the way they do now.  As far as Chittum goes I am hoping that he ends up at OSU or another big time program.

I would guess Chittum stays in the Big 10 or 12. Maybe a ACC school. He did have a teammate just transfer to Oklahoma State

That’s because they have about half the students and not near the NIL that a place like App State does. But in the end you still have to live in Boone NC and sorry AppVol, no reason to live in Boone or North Carolina in that regard!

**also appvol**** I’m just giving you a hard time

Minnesota - check

iowa - check

iowa st - check

does Chittum have enough eligibility to hit ALL the schools?

Its surprising to me that anyone would take him since he doesn’t seem to overly concerned with anyone other than himself.

If you are good enough schools overlook a lot to take you(see any of the Ferrari’s and their traveling circus). I’m sure he will end up at like Okie State in the end.

I love it. Give me hard all you want. Most of my family lives in Boone. Wife went to App St and got her Masters plus Doctorate at ETSU. I went to the same High School JMB did. Great family and he is a great coach

Plus UTC good do better than a LuLu Lemon coach.

Really??? You are bashing a great kid! What is wrong with you guys?  Cody needs to go where is best for him and his family. I would bet just about every school that has a need has probably already reached out to him. I can promise you he is very unselfish, I know firsthand he has given his time to help my son anytime Hunter has asked him!

If someone transfers once, I get it. Do what’s best for you, OR maybe it just wasn’t a good fit. Those things happen.

Looking at the tour of America that hes taken, I mean, are Minnesota, Iowa, and Iowa St the problem and he bears no responsibility for leaving those programs?

At the very least his decision making should come into question if he’s continually committing and putting himself into situations that aren’t right for him? Once is an accident. Three times is a trend.

And hes a D1 college athlete. Hes open to as much criticism as any other college athlete. Being someone from Tennessee doesnt give a pass. Listen to sports talk radio. What I pointed out is tame, and i think fair.

If youre trying to build a TEAM, is going after the dude that de-committed from Minnesota to go to Iowa, then left Iowa to go to Iowa St, and is now leaving Iowa St the best option? Not if you want a team first mindset, no. Explain how that is wrong. Unless you are one piece away from making a one season run, then its not.

I understand that you and your son have a history with him, and thats great. But if youre looking at it objectively, you have to see something off about the situation.

I’m not trying to model myself after sports talk radio! Last time I checked, Wrestling is not a team sport. The athlete is responsible for building himself. The coach is responsible for building the team. The landscape of college athletics has changed tremendously in the last few years. When I played if you transferred you lost one year regardless, whether it was a coaching change, bad situation or any other reason. I am glad these kids can make changes and put themselves in the best possible situation. I would give the athletes and the families the benefit of the doubt, especially since I don’t know their specific situation and I am not paying their bills. I am guessing since you have passed judgment on a college kid making a decision you know all the details that went into those decisions?

No. And I don’t need to have all the details. I know a college athlete has hopped 3 schools and I know that isnt a good look regardless of the details.

That’s what I know. And I don’t need your approval to have that opinion.

And this is exactly my point. A coach building a team should be hesitant about taking a kid that has hopped through 3 teams.

Im really confused as to why this has gotten you so heated.

    • Most seem to be opting out all together, some are going to Scott and yes that is sort of out of the frying pan and I to the fire situation I agree but they feel they can at least have fun playing ball there for one year. That’s something they say they haven’t experienced to this point in HS. I thought you said some were coming to CF? I know you’re a smoke blower most of the time. So was that more smoke or have you really heard that. I’m working off memory and haven’t went back to check if it was you to be honest so if not and it was someone else then my bad and I apologize.
    • Prior to Caine and other positions just to get him in the building. No, AC isn't going anywhere, at least for another year!
    • Well the off season they got the helmets refurbished to purple, think I heard he sat down with the players threatening to leave and they’ve all stayed as of now, or because TSSAA didn’t pass the one time transfer rule, they made a tik tok account, hired an alumni that played at Bethel on the DLine, OC stayed the same unless HC calls plays, and moved their LB coach to DC, there having an open practice for the public on the first day of full pads this spring, and I think there spring game is against Page JV again. Also heard rumors going around that their returning QB is out 13 weeks due to an injury during baseball season.
    • Reign man you think Upperman was gonna get rid of Caine to bring in Hughes? They may have reached out to see if he wanted to be assistant but I'd say Caine is untouchable as he should be!
