Change at Oneida after 2025

Recommended Posts

I’ll put it at this fellas, with what I’ve been informed from some guys that are around the program and my connections, Oneida Football is not a team that someone feels desired to play for. From my thoughts of it, Jimmy has partly been the reason many have decided to up and leave Oneida, or some to even choose not to play football anymore. I’d say the culture is bad down there at the moment, and not many things good to say about the program. We decided to give a Head Coach another year, that has proved to have losing seasons, seasons where we get no where. We lose games every year that there is no way in heck that we should lose. Is this because we haven’t grown a big enough pair to do something else? I get he’s respected by the staff, but ask some players, I don’t see much respect for him there. It becomes a problem when the players don’t buy in to the coach, and want to leave because they feel that’s the best option. The generation now days are different then they were back in my days, and haven’t changed for the better. It’s a big problem when no respect is shown for a coach after not listening to his players or honestly anybody to change things up. I say that because I know there is some players on this board as we’ve found out last year, and many of them are saying the same things we are fellas. I think this is a horrible atmosphere to be around at the moment, and I’m glad I got away when I did. It’s sad to see Oneida football turn into such a disaster. I reckon it’s bad when players want to go down the road and play for a coach that can’t win, knowing they will be treated better there then they were here. I’m not going to drop any names, although I’ve heard some, but I know already we’ve lost some key players, and it will hurt us. At what cost do we keep a coach? I see nothing changing and I see the same old same ole coming out of the Indians this year. It’s a total surprise to all of us, that no applications and interviews were held. I just know there would be some more than qualified guys lined up for this job, and I know a few in mind that want to coach here again, if you catch what I’m putting down. I’ll end with this, how much worse can it get?

Where are they going to go though? The dumpster fire that is Scott County High School?

I know there has been rumors of multiple places kids have thought about going. Trust me, I know. I talk to someone I know very well and he tells me everything. Some kids however have indeed went to Scott.

Most seem to be opting out all together, some are going to Scott and yes that is sort of out of the frying pan and I to the fire situation I agree but they feel they can at least have fun playing ball there for one year. That’s something they say they haven’t experienced to this point in HS. I thought you said some were coming to CF? I know you’re a smoke blower most of the time. So was that more smoke or have you really heard that. I’m working off memory and haven’t went back to check if it was you to be honest so if not and it was someone else then my bad and I apologize.

There have been reports of this yes, however I don’t believe any are true. I’m surprised that anyone even knew about that actually. I’ve talked to some of the kids and a good amount of them know and are friends with multiple players at CF.

Let’s make a comment shall we fellas. Game 1, Webb coached team. Rockwood will bring some fire, as normal and they will be ready. This year it will be played in Jim May Stadium, and will be the start of the 2025 season as football in Tennessee is set under way. Although they will come play with fire, I believe the Indians will start the season off as 1-0, after watching Rockwood play the last couple of years. Game #2 at Harriman. Harriman picked up a great Head Coach. Graham was a phenomenal coach at Oak ridge where he previously coached and I believe he coached at AE as well, correct me if I’m wrong fellas. I know he will have a great turn around for his kids, with that being said, although this is going to happen, the kids having to adjust to a new coach is not easy. I know that from expierence. I think Harriman will be a little rocky this year but in the up and coming years they could be a team team to beat. So, I think that puts the Indians at 2-0 but once again, you never know. Week 3. Indians will become 2-1. I don’t see the Indians competing with Bledsoe as they’ve struggled up front every year against any team and Bledsoe is unmatched compared to the Indians. Week 4, CAK. CAK plays a tough schedule and we have yet to play them for a little while now. I’m not 100% sure how well they are going to be yet this year, got to reach out to some of my contacts, but this game could go either way, I have the Indians being 3-1 after this game in a tight-knit game. Week 5, Tellico plains. Don’t get me started on this game. I don’t know how the Indians were able to lose this game last season. Tellico has been off their game for years now, and aren’t very good, but neither of we to be quite frank. With that being said, I believe this year the Indians will win putting them at 4-1. Week 6, Coalfield. Oneida has not been able to compete with the jackets for a while now, and I’m hoping this year breaks that, but even then, you know that Coalfield will be very well coached with Napier up there. This game is at home, but can the Indians bring enough juice. Last year we ran out, and they owned us in that second half. This game is controversial and could honestly go either way I’ll have us at 4-2 after this game. Oliver Springs, week 7. We know that they are big up front, per usual. I know Oliver springs has some talent, some kids getting recruited to play d1 ball. This could also go either way, especially considering the competitiveness between the two schools. I’ll have 4-3 after this game in most likely a close game. Sweetwater, week 8. I’ll be honest I haven’t really kept up with them, but from what I’ve heard they are the lowest right now of 3A. I’ll just take an odd guess and predict a 5-3 record after this game, but I will be looking into this game to see if I change my mind after I look into them some. Polk County, week 9. We’ve played close with them every year, they lost most to all their players last year, I’ll have this 6-3. Week 10, Eagleton. Eagleton as well is on the same path, lost a few of their best players and aren't looking to well, but again one of those teams we play close to every year. 7-3 after this game.

that concludes my predictions, let me know.

I’ll have to disagree with you on the CAK game. In my opinion CAK will be tough, one of the toughest games all year I think. Private league is different compared to casual 2A schedule. These kids will be different than your average 2A football team. I don’t think it will be a blow out but I’ll take CAK.

I’ll say this, I’ve never seen so many kids either quit or transfer. Especially coming from a small place. I know what I think and what would probably work but hey, I don’t make the decisions around these parts.

Surprised that anyone knew about what? Some transferring to CF? What you think you’re the only one that knows players/parents 😂. I said I’d have to see it to believe it but considering how buddy buddy Oneida and CF students are nowadays I don’t think it’s as much of a stretch as in years past. I mean it seems like about 1/3 of the Oneida student body are dating students from CF anymore 😁

Well, that is a valid point. 1/3? Can confirm that number has dropped drastically. :roflol:

How much worse can it get??Well we sure know!I hate to say it like this but I'm glad that Ole Clemmer showed his lack of social skills with one of our boys with witnesses OR we would still be in that mess.At least yours has some morales. It can get way worse even as bad as it is!

    • Yeah, I don’t see that AC situation ending well. Let’s be real, AC is a super redneck school, always has been. Inner city boys and rednecks just don’t generally mix well, if you get my drift. Before it’s all said and done, there will be drama. As I’ve said before, people will sell their souls to win football games. It’s crazy.
    • Booger thinkin that it probably not unreal istical to be thinkin the TFP could be ones source..... Booger just sayin
    • Hard to believe that it’s two kids from The McCallie School, and one each from Dobyns Bennett and The Baylor School.  I really thought a couple of other kids would have made the podium this year.
    • I have said it many times before, Coach Phillips stated awhile back; "We coach players that want to be ROADRUNNERS!"  Even if they takes their lumps and bruises and its been bruises the last couple of years, they're still not going to recruit players.  If they stay, LETS GO!  If they leave, SEE YA LATER!  IT's HARD BEING A ROADRUNNER!     Fulton was tough back in the days when they won 3 titles, no argument there.   AC-  I think they beat Alcoa this year , Alcoa isn't all that and they will take their bumps and bruises this year. They won't cake walk 4A and I agree those parents will turn on the coach because they're playing outside kids
