Apparently, they are making that threat in some cases.

But it's all about the kids, you know .................

I mean, that's crazy to lie to them like that just to make sure they go out of KCS just to play.  I mean, most of them could've helped their base school but that "threat" made all of the ones that's left go outside of KCS .

So is BHS really telling the players, they can't transfer to a KCS school or they would have to sit out?   Is that the reason all these players are transfering out of KCS schools?

So I talked to now 3 players and counting who’s left Bearden and a handful of players who have stayed, and a person who would know more than HTV’s coach, who is no longer even a coach but is still in the school building. There has not been a single report of Bearden coaches telling any players that. Most, if not all, the players who left did so before Coach Brad Taylor got there, so I’m not sure where you all are getting your information. Most of these players are going to where and whoever pays them. When Brad got into the coaching position at Bearden and started making phone calls to parents to introduce himself, about 37% asked for financial gain to be on the team. Just a heads up, the majority, if not about all, those players are now heading to Alcoa and AC, and two to Maryville, and they are getting them right much better than any school around here could offer outside of BA, but they didn’t want him due to size.

I think you’re just in delusion because you thought all these players would want to go to the dumpster fire called Austin East… which btw none of them did.

My coach?

Not sure who that would be.

And have knowledge one particular situation where a student transfered back to his original home school zone, and even met a family situation with separated parents that is a book rule, yetis being held up by Bearden administrators.

Yeah.  It's happening.

I'm just realizing- HTV is all about disparaging schools once his friends aren't there

And this whole "BHS really telling the players, they can't transfer to a KCS school or they would have to sit out?".  That's true for anyone anywhere without a change of address or "significant academic, social-emotional, environmental, or mental health need" .  That's just the rule.

Not sure why we're acting like there is some crazy conspiracy .

CPA does have a good program and they are in the biggest class for privates. Y’all are 1-1 vs them. We will see how this year goes. Kudos to scheduling them.

My original point was Knox area teams playing Knox privates. Much closer for families to transfer from public to private.  Ya’ll are about a hour away from each other.
I still believe in making private schools travel. Public schools shouldn’t make it easier for those privates that take their kids that are just down the road. There are plenty of public schools that can provide competition.

If your in a situation like Oakland or any public that has had alot of success, your just glad if you can find 10 games so if the private won't travel to your place, you find a way to make it work.

Nashville has way more good private programs than Knox does, moving 30-40 miles isn't gonna stop a family from getting their kid transferred

The bigger issue should be calling out the publics that duck competition so teams like Oakland have no choice but to go out of state or the private route. I got no problem playing CPA, they focus on developing the kids they got rather than buying everyone else's.

They just don’t want to face them for a region game or playoffs

I understand that but some wasn't even going to a region where Bearden was an opponent .  TO say it was a TSSAA rule is crazy though .  Like I told someone, "the same crap they fed yall to get yall down there is the same crap they're feeding you to keep you there!"

    • Alcoa definitely benefits from it being best 2 of 3 in the sectional round. The Central/Alcoa series should be a good one. Anxious to see AA Mr. Baseball candidate Tyler Oaks on Thursday evening.
    • Clinton got beat by Carter in their spring game. Jim Bob Tooters has no clue what he is talking about, however I do think Clinton wins 5 games this year.
    • sounds like you know that team better than most. You are right, the PG needs some relief. The twins are both going to be a lot better this year and the girl that came off the bench some for them that wore #20 seems to have the potential to knock down some shots if she is working hard right now. I'm not familiar with Allen.
    • Sequatchie’s backs are very good, will have atleast 3 backs with 2,22,21. Got a kid in from Hixson who is a very good athlete from what I heard, he played qb and wr I believe. We lost some linemen from last year, and honestly our line wasn’t that great but our qb, rb and wr found a way to score. Sophomore qb last year is a stud, kid can make plays with his feet and has a good arm. Only question for Seq is the line, defense should be pretty solid though have a lot returning. Have another tough schedule this year, with south Pitt who should more than likely win state, Marion county is always tough, they lost a lot from last year but should still make state probably, walker valley will be tough, Giles and Watertown will be tough don’t know how signal mtn will be.
    • If they score like your saying they will win it all. Their defense is going to hold whoever under 40. If I am South Gibson I full court press early and often. They are really good at it and it creates lots of transition buckets. They have to learn to score in the half court better. Most teams at the Glass House has trouble scoring consistently in the half court. It would be nice if they could get another PG to relieve Dunn from handling the ball so much. When your best guard has to bring the ball up the court 24/7 it makes it tough. When Gibson County got Akira Riding a couple of years ago it helped Micah Hart a lot and it opened stuff up for her. Allen is coming up from the 8th grade and if she hits the ground running it will help South Gibson a ton.
