You're correct ReignMan... Several Dads are reaching out to other area Coaches for them to apply with underlying motives behind those texts & calls. There has been & currently way too much parent involvement in several of their programs. Some good & some not so good... Anyway, crazy time at WCHS, Football is in a mess & Baseball is a mess! This is a very crucial hire for WC. Whoever applies best be weary of how WC Admin does their Coaching Supplements by starting all Coaches at year Zero on the pay scale. You keep your teaching time in for number of years served but not your previous Coaching years which is asinine. Also, there's no teaching positions open, so whoever takes the job can't bring anyone in to help Coach. WC will do the easy & cheap thing when it comes to coaches. That's just what they do... well, unless it's Soccer, but that's a story for another day.

Football isn't in a mess Middle School has great staff with solid coach who Is gonna be around for long time!High School has 6-7 solid assistants best group of assistants they've ever had in my opinion ,coming off a 10 win season and several players returning!The supplement deal I'm sure will be discussed and several of the coaches will be glad to have the assistants in place!It's not like Monterey and Jackson county etc are loaded with a ton of staff!10 or so have applied so it's appealing to several it looks like!Baseball different story but it's been handled from what I hear!Parents who know a coach personally and text and say sure would love you to apply if ya didn't do that would disappoint me!End of day Crain,Wilson and admin do the interviews and hiring but community and players can weigh in that's part of it!Beaty got hired because assistants and kids spoke up and wanted him and it was successful for most part!Beaty just didn't wanna put in all the time a head coach has to and stepped down no drama it was a life choice!

With all the rumors and speculation that LCL throws out, sounds like he will be a major factor in who the next coach will be or maybe could be wanting the job himself.  Frazier and Beaty did a great job of bringing that program back from the dead, Little confused on how you said Beaty was not putting in the time, sounds like with the last two years he was there time was put in two good seasons, especially for a program that had struggled for so many years. Sometimes parents really just need to sit back and enjoy watching there kids play.

No said Beaty didn't wanna put in the time as a head coach now to be with his daughter, I read the presser just like everyone else!Beaty and all the coaches built a strong foundation! Thankful for them all!Hogg was named interim for time being and will do a great job!

Just got reminded of this earlier in the morning and correct me if I’m wrong but did Hughes not apply when Beaty applied a couple of years ago and all these parents wanted Beaty?

Yes... And most of the asst coaches threatened to quit if he didn't get the job as well.

Did he get a lot of heavy criticism for that loss to Macon? I remember seeing that!
 

He’s not going to a lateral job like White Co or in 4A (unless it Alcoa) but could be looked at by some 6A schools soon!
