TKA Head Coach Out?

Just saw the five star preps headline didn't read the article so don't know the full story. I know this is a team that at times has been good when able to pull talent from surrounding areas but recently has struggled with their numbers. Thoughts?

dang this late in the summer????? wow….. does this job interest anybody????

2 months until the season starts apparently he was the AD too so that may complicate it more. One of the smallest schools in the state so definitely gonna be interesting.

This is beyond shortsighted. The interim HOS wants to be an all elementary and fine arts school with little to no boys sports. Absolutely terrible decision and so late in the game for both the coach and the student athletes. They had more boys in spring practice than the last five years, programs performing above their resources (especially WBB), and canned a guy with ten years at a school because you didn’t like him and understand sports. Hope he lands on his feet and those kids get an opportunity elsewhere as there is no way appointing a maintenance staff member as interim coach is serious at all, 146 years and that lady just throws it away.

No doubt they fold the program this year.

Sports can be such a big part of your school journey and to get them taken away like this no warning so close it's terrible for the kids hopefully they are able to find other places to play lots of schools around that area to choose from.

Talk about a rabbit hole. I know the school but don't know what's happening there with its leadership. Went to the website. They actually share notes from their Board meetings which was helpful. Sometime between Jan 28 and April 22 the HOS must have announced that he was leaving or it was announced by the Board that he was leaving. So they needed an interim. Surprised that they would give an interim the power to make such a big change in personnel (an AD and football coach) or such a big change in philosophy that the AD/football coach would quit abruptly. 

There have been rumors that a school in east TN had identified a candidate from middle TN to start in 2026. IF the school in east TN is TKA, AND the person they have identified is the person from middle TN I am talking about then he is the exact opposite of the interim HOS. 

I know, another rumor (with an "if" in there too!). But it was being talked about among parents before school got out in May

Word is there is about 5 or 6 players left  & others have either transferred or quit because of this B.S. Phillip Troutman is the acting Head Coach & Mike Crowder the Interm acting AD. Anything could happen but the timing is incredibly bad & again my sources are good but the football season may be up in the air

Btw it’s questioned why on earth Matt Lowe went to TKA where he did an excellent job!!!! Well he HAD to leave Powell for awhile so TKA gobbled him up. Really wanted to see the stadium & field get a huge upgrade at some point. The hopes were high for this season but again all this has left many questions. If the stupid split hadn’t happened TKA could have been a big player in the 1A playoffs for a bunch of years

Ask 50 ppl get 51 different stories. Just talked to a few people from there & are glad he is gone & should’ve happened sooner was told. Said he was hostile & not a man of God among other things. I also talked to 2 of the players & they said he was well liked & the team was upset over the changes. So flip a coin
