Weekend tournaments

I read the article that Collierville won the Franklin tournament and Baylor won the Alabama tournament. Were there any other tournaments this weekend? How did Father Ryan and MBA do at Mater Dei? Where was Bradely, McCallie, Soddy, Clevland, and other big schools this weekend?

Soddy came in 5th in the Winder-Barrow Inv. First was Collins Hill, Oviedo (Florida), Norristown(Penn.) Custer (Wisc.),and Soddy. Nick Lukacs(Collins Hill) was named Outstanding Wrestler after beating John Lane of Soddy Daisy 13 - 5 in the finals

I just wanted to send Congratulations to all the teams that competed this weekend out of state. Our state has a number of good rivalries, but the way I look at it when teams leave the state, its not a team you want to see lose. When Baylor goes to Alabama, I look at it as Tennesse vs. Alabama, Bradley goes to Virginia its Tennessee vs. Virginia, Father Ryan vs. Mater Dei, Tennesse vs. Indiana. I dont know how everyone else looks at the situation but I give credit to the teams that go out of state and wrestle the best competition possible, and love to see everyone win, and get a name going for Tennesse wrestling. All that matters in for your team is how you do in February, and until then go out and try to knock off some big name programs outside of the state! Go Tennessee!

The tournament was formerly the Duckhead Invitational (I think). Now, it's the George Thompson IV Memorial Tournament hosted by Winder-Barrow High School in Winder, GA.

That's a great site. I wish we{Tn} had something similar as far as a clearinghouse for results. A lot of local papers here in the South don't give much coverage of the sport. The Chattanooga paper used to be wonderul back in the day but that was before the merger, and today they aren't very good either.

cbhs wasn't offically in the tournment b/c a Maryland team (Calvert Hall) isn't in the National Fed. of High Schools and so TSSAA won't allow any team from Tenn. to wrestle a team who is not in the Fed....so we couldn't wrestle them & weren't offically in the tourn....no matter, we still wrestled 3 duals and won two in Pennsylvania...here are the results:
