Flyby, I don't fish Cordell Hull much but it is similiar to Old Hickory. If you can brave the temperatures go fish the steam plants warm water discharge. Most are fishing for stripe or rockfish but you can catch bass on a spinnerbait just about anytime in that area.

I'm fishing the Superbass circuit this year. I like the team concept and the local tournaments. Six tournaments, score top five, and if you finish in the top 40% at the end of the year you qualify for the national tournament. Don't know the lake but I believe lake is located in Alabama. I spoke to the tournament director and he is only anticipating 40- 60 boats this year since this is the first year in Tennessee. As of a few days ago he had 12 boats who have paid the 20 dollar membership fee.

Also good friday nite tournament(summer) out of Flippers at 109 bridge that is fun.(and cheap) Flipper also runs a sunday morning bass tournament that is very popular.

Taking my boat in for yearly service this saturday. Can't wait to get it back because I fish year round. :D

Ego, I didn't start fishing until my early 20,s. (I'm 47 now) I've got to the point that I really enjoy fishing local tournaments. Love the competition. Of course, as with any hobby, the more knowledge you aquire the more you spend on your hobby!!!!!lol!!!

Maybe what we need is a thread that gives fishermen the opportunity to explain the type of equipment needed for the different species of fish. Would that be helpful?

    • Heard they did well which is not a surprise since the strength of their team will be the pass game (at least offensively). QB can really sling it and they have three, big and athletic WRs.
    • Hey Spike, I’m still confused that Oneida already named a head coach in waiting after Coach May steps down this year.  That’s not a knock on the new coach, he may turn out to be ok, but you would think that job would be advertised and interviews conducted.  I would think some quality applicants for sure for the job, including an assistant right off I-75 down the road from you guys.  I’m not trying to start drama either, I don’t have a dog in the hunt, but it seems peculiar about that move.  Hope it works out for Oneida, maybe the leadership knows more.  Good luck to the Indians in 2025.
    • Yes, by all accounts, this game should be over quickly but I would say this game means a hundred times more to the Gate City players  then it does to the DB players.Years  ago when Greeneville had DB on their schedule , it was  Just another little local team for DB that they dominated but for Greeneville it was circled ⭕️ on the schedule.  Same thing when a Greene county team plays Greeneville. Bottom line for the DB players is they better go into it ready to be hit hard and often just like I told the DB boys when they went for a scrimmage at Greeneville a few years ago. Jump on Gate City fast but expect them to play tough until the end.
