14U boys substate in Knoxville

I didn't say th coach from kaya was poor in any manner. I'll give credit when it is due he has taken a bunch of extremely talented players and they play very well as a team no question. To me that is a sign of a good coach especially in today's me first game. I was just curious to why they didn't press because they play so well that way. It is when they are at their best! They are the best I've seen at that style and I know that first hand believe me so aaucoach 13 don't take my comment wrong. You won the tournament by +71 points so obviously the strategy worked. It is to my understanding that most of the teams out west are really big and I felt like that would be the style he would choose to play to advance at state. I hope kaya wins it all they are the best team I've seen and I respect their coaching extremely. As a matter of fact the move to go box and one agianst the elite won them that game ifthey didn'tgo to that defensive they may not have even won the game. I just felt maddox didn't adjust to the box and one.

Truthfully, we really didn't have to press. When you press sometimes you pick up silly fouls, and the officials know you are more aggressive. We could have pressed, but when you press your players wear down quicker.

I understand the kid that scored all those points from the Elite team tried to be a one man show. Maybe Kats/Daddy knows for sure. Memphis has been inundated with calls this week because AAU has never had all tournament teams in sub-state or state play. How did they come up with it this year in Knoxville? We've been involved in AAU for over 14 years and it has never been done in Lynchburg, Nashville, Jackson or Memphis. I've never even heard of it happening in Knoxville, until this year.

The All-Tournament team was selected by an independent panel of one person from the Knoxville Jazz organization. If I remember correctly: Elite had 2, Top Guns had 2, Lightning had 1, and KAYA had 1.

 

I'm not sure how the independent panel of 1 person was able to travel to 3 gyms and see all 12 teams equally.

 

I can say they did it in 13U, and every team was represented but 1.

 

If you have any complaints I'd email the Tournament Director and Knoxville Jazz president at: KnoxvilleJazz@aol.com. Especially those people who didn't like the officiating. Those with officiating concerns should email the President of the Jazz, and call Mr. Anderson in Memphis.

I play for the pacesetters and the refs were terrible. I really believe we should have won at least 2 of our games but there was bad officiating. I appreciate you all mentioning our coach because he is also my dad. Yes he is doing fine. We R playing in yboa sub-state this weekend. Has anyone found out who has gotten all-tournament?Also I think the Eagles should have beaten the lightning. The refs gave the game away.

Pacesetters, should have beaten the Cagers, but missed Free Throws were costly down the stretch. I think if the Pacesetters had another post player or two they could have advanced to the playoff rounds.
