I have a question for the board. I will be moving to the Nashville area soon, and I am looking to live in one of the surrounding counties(not Davidson Co.). What nearby county has the best overall public schools as far as academically, athletically, best athletic facilities, best school support, etc.)? Also, what towns and high schools are the best overall to live in and attend? I know this is subjective, but any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I've heard good things about Hendersonville and Brentwood, but I would like some other opinions.

I'm partial to Williamson Co. of course. Brentwood is good, if you can afford a house there. Franklin has good schools with Page, Centennial, Franklin, and Ravenwood is a new school close to Brentwood. Fairview is good as well and growing fast and maybe more affordable. Williamson Co. offers country living close to Nashville and I like it personally. With I-840 being built around the southern loop, access is pretty good without going through Nashville.

Guest Oakland

if are you are willing to go a little bit farther south, rutherford county has everyone of those things, plus 3 of the last 5 class aaa state baseball champs have been from rutherford co.

check out Riverdale's and Oakland's and Blackman's

web-sites... I am partial to Riverdale, but all three are outstanding schools

with great adminstrators and teachers and coaches.... And my alma-mater,

Smyrna, and Lavergne are pretty good schools as well... and don't forget

Eagleville or the new kid on the block, Siegel... But did I mention Riverdale? :D

Williamson County is the most affluent county in Tennessee, but most of Brentwood and Franklin is very accessible to anyone who wishes to live there. Yes, there are MEGAhouses and ritzy neighborhoods, but for every Princeton Hills or Hidden River (abundantly lavish and beautiful) there are dozens of ideal middle-class neighborhoods. In addition, the Williamson County public schools are the best schools in Tennessee. I joke with my Brentwood High School friends that theirs is essentially a private school, both demographically and in terms of acheivement. The academics are rigorous, the athletics are top-notch (just look around this website a bit), Brentwood and Franklin both have award-winning bands, and each possesses a proud history in Fine Arts. If your kids are younger, I can speak from experience in asserting that the Elementary schools in WilCo are especially elite. Grassland Elementary School offered me an unforgettably nurturing young education that set the foundation for secondary excellence, and other Williamson County Schools have offered similar experiences for many of my friends.

Williamson County is not the only beautiful county in Tennessee; however, its location, facilities, housing, employment, and citizens make it a unique, abundant area rich with more than just money. Can you tell I like this place? Check it out.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
