hey, dude, your the real moron on this site. having said that, i never said a great group of fr would be great as seniors if they didn't work hard and stay together. in addition, they need a little luck--staying free of major injuries. now to the main point, you mentioned riverdale's sr's killed brentwood when they were fr, right. but brentwood beat riverdale in the championship game 10-7 last yr. however, according to my sources brentwood fielded some very good jr linemen last yr. so that senior class was absent of a good line when they were fr. now, there is your answer.

How is that a question? And perhaps a more relative topic instead of "? for bhsol" would have been something like "does freshman success translate to success as a senior?" To adress that, I think I have to concur with a lot of people and say no. The guys that graduated at FHS last year (Dana Slater et al) were quite a successful freshmen team. Last year, they finished 5-6 or 6-5, somewhere around there, losing BIG in the first round to Hendersonville. I'm sure you can prove your point with several good examples, but it can also be proven with MANY good examples that it just doesn't fly. But I don't see why you're so adamant about your belieft, it's not that big of a deal. Just remember- it's all about what you do right now, not in the past, not in the future. Live for the moment.

well spoken. i stand corrected. however, it really wasn't about a question. i was just trying to get his attention since he said i must the dumbest member on this site. my point is this: a great fr class= the potential for a great leadership class in 3 yrs, which= the chance at having a banner yr. but this group must continue to strive to do better in what made them a great fr team (work ethic, discipline, positive attitude, etc...).

JPATS5, you didn't say that a freshman team has potential to win against a team they beat 3 years later. You said that they would win. By the way, your still the real moron if you think that J.C. can get past which ever Murfreesboro team next year, that is if they make it far enough to play one of us.

how can you make such a claim? did you watch jeff co play last yr? do you know anything about their upcoming sr class that is loaded with more talent and speed than any other class at jeff, maybe even better the 87 squad. have you read what other people are saying about jeff this yr? i doubt it. most people believe they have an excellent chance of winning it all.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
