Blake Fulton

Toward the end of the Pearl Cohn - Hillsboro game on Comcast Friday night, Blake Fulton made a comment that a Hillsboro player (he called him by name) was 70 yards away from his team on the sidelines talking to fans in the bleachers and not paying attention to the game. They did not show a camera shot of the player. My question is this : Is this Fulton's Job - to be a tattle tale ???

I just had a real problem with it. Sure it was wrong for the player to be doing this but I don't think it is/was his job to be doing the discipline for Hillsboro's football staff. He also made a comment stating "wait til coach Aydolotte sees this".

You would never find this happening in a college game or pros or would you ?? I mean call it like you see 'em but call the game first and foremost !!

He and Sperdudo are pretty awful - I think they could do a lot better

If you are calling a game shouldn't you call what you see? If a fight had broken out between the bands would you comment on that? I do not like Blake or his comments, but he is there being paid to call what he sees in this was what he saw. Leave him alone, if he was talking about some drunk guy in the parking lot that would be different.

Couldn't resist commenting here. How Blake Fulton has a job -- any job-- in this town -- or any town -- pretty much dumbfounds me.

Everyone I've run into where the WTN fiasco comes up that know him can not get far enough away from the guy. Being a 'tattle tale' and 'pot stirrer' puts it mildly.

Personally? I "met" Fulton after the Hillsboro / Overton comcast game last year and, w/o going into the details was very unimpressed.

For as they say, nothing lasts like a first impression.

Blake Fulton is terrible with anything he comes in contact with. Sooner or later people are going to figure this out and Mr. Fulton will be unemployed from all the announcing jobs he now has. Hope this comes sooner for all involved. Blake if for some reason you read this i would like to know whose coattails you rode because there is no way that you got where you are on your talent.

    • As I said somewhere earlier in the thread, the original plans had no outdoor athletic facilities being part of the campus.  The original plan was for HVA to use facilities at nearby schools.  Very late in the process they came up with a plan and found budget to have minimal facilities and crammed them in to space that never was intended for athletic facilities.
    • Agreed, the way the field is turned you get the evening sun blasting right into the press box making filming a nightmare there, plus its so low.  The field is land locked and parking is a nightmare too. Seems like Knox County could have done a lot better there with the design and the quality.
    • I think this upcoming team may be pretty good, they will definately be better up front and if they can replace Dozier, Heyward and Rembert, they can be real good. They have the same strange schedule, but this time with 5 straight home games. The road games at Jeff County, Powell will be tough to open up with and the back side at Bearden is the tough game there.  One question I had if anyone knows: There has been some talk of an indoor practice facility in the past, with the new track area now more of a track area, that kind of leaves a need for a football practice area. Just sayin....
    • I find it hard to believe that 70% of a schools enrollment is zoned for another school district
    • I was told that the indoor facility is happening regardless of the vote on the taxes but it would be a much bigger project with more funds if they vote goes through
